A man gets pulled over for speeding down a back road in Georgia, and a Sheriff's deputy chases him down, pulls him over, walks up to the driver's window, and says "Son, what gave you the darn fool notion you can rip through our county like that?"
The driver replies "Why not? Sherman did."

In most cases State Troopers would indeed stop chasing someone across state lines, because it's another jurisdiction and thus ain't their problem anymore.

in the real world, cops can and will pursue across county/regional/state lines while calling for state or local resources.
life is not an action movie where you cross an imaginary line and you're scott free. for fuck's sake, even the irs will tax you on reported drug sales and robberies (you're required to report these for tax purposes only).
these are the same people who think a 'tax write-off' just means free lmao

Cops hate this one weird trick....

I am pretty sure that is highly dependent on a number of factors. There is a youtube channel for Arkansas state police. I know I have them chase over the border into TN and TX in a couple of them. They don't seem to ever just let someone go no matter what.

Two Idaho State Troopers were chasing a suspect on the road toward Oregon. When the suspect crossed the Oregon border, the first Trooper pulled over quickly. The rookie Trooper pulled in behind him and said, "Hey, sarge, why did you stop?" The sarge replied,

Nah, they still got time, might be able to start a business or even a multigenerational family with how far back Eastern Oregon is.
