CEO retired. How do you politely say "no" without burning a bridge?

To add to the conversation, I say you help him and be gracious based on your prior relationship. What changes I think is you have the right to set limits. You helping him doesn't mean you have to jump to attention every time he calls like you did when he was CEO. "Hey Bob, would love to help you with that (once I'm back from vacation/work slows down just a bit/I'm taking care of some family stuff). Set boundaries just like you would with a good friend who may not realize how much they're asking of you .

A coworker died yesterday. There's an important lesson that some need to hear.

How do you feel about the Return to Office Bullshit? What have you done about it?

Considering our mandatory return to the office was June 5th 2020, I'm amazed they let you guys go this long. I miss being able to prep dinner and the commute time I got back but not enough to seek another job. Supporting an environment that's right in front of you and not having to support remote people all the time is nice. Got a reminder of that last snow day

An end user just asked me: “don’t you wish we still had our own Exchange server so we could fix everything instead of waiting for MS”?

Specialization is the answer. Support is where a lot of people start because a lot of it can be learned relatively quickly. If that's where you shine, that's fine, but specialization is usually considered the road to advancement on the technical career path, while management is the other. It doesn't mean anyone's making a value judgement on you. Also it's not just the money, if there's work you find more interesting than other parts, specializing in it and becoming the expert in that area makes sense rather than dabbling in it while doing the other variety of support work.
