I guess considering all factors, my new plan is to save for 2 with my partner, buy a boat to sail the East Coast of Australia for a year straight, then eventually sell it to rent a boat in Indo for 6 months... Thanks for the input, much appreciated!

I just finished watching Calypte with Torren Martin and came to a similar conclusion. I guess it’s more realistic to just get the boat and spend as much time as it takes getting used to it before committing to such a big trip. Thanks for the input.

Thanks I’d appreciate that a lot. When I was last working on a boat we hung out near Panama City and there were boats that had been abandoned and left to rot everywhere we looked, I guess a free boat is possible!

Mate that boat looks suburb. It would be easiest to buy over there but I like the idea of setting up the yacht near home and getting used to it there first..

I did that in Costa Rica and Panama already, and fell in love with the lifestyle, the only way I could top that experience would to be the one calling the shots!

What is cheap for a 28ft boat? Did you have to do a lot of work on it because it was cheap?

Thankyou! Ive seen a few 1980s/70s 25-30ft yachts going for between 6-12k AUD$, are these generally considered to be steered clear of because of being old and problomatic money pits or are boats this old just priced as such normally?
