For people who had never did their GCSES, how are you now?

A school friend of mine gained very few GCSEs, she managed to pass English but she failed maths. She wanted to be either a vet tech or midwife, both of which she needed maths to proceed. She re-took the maths GCSE 8 times in the years following school, the large majority she now had to pay for, and she failed each time. She said she really regrets not trying harder at school to save her time and money, she didn’t attend the after-school maths help sessions that were offered. As far as I’m aware now, she works in hospitality and is focusing on her kid. You can do it, but it will absolutely be hard work. Get them while you have the chance and they are free - yes, you may not need them, but then again you might. Tutoring is always an option, uni students are usually good and cheap tutors. Best of luck to you.

I uploaded a £20 Lidl shop on here recently, 1 person for 1 week. I had done a £60 shop the week before so still had plenty of ingredients leftover. I also eat the same thing for breakfast/lunch/dinner a week at a time to save money and mental energy (I’m not bothered by eating the same thing each day.) I also had a takeaway one night that week.

I did my A-level and undergrad in law, starting working at a couple of firms and hated the environment and the people. I’m now a speech and language therapist 😂

That’s amazing, congratulations! It’s also my dream, I’ve got a novel-length work finished after 10 years and currently working on a collection of short stories.

My teenage son doesn't enjoy going to his grandparents, due to boredom. How would you handle this?

My Great Aunt gave us two batteries and a golf ball and said go nuts. We created a competitive bowling game that became a tradition to play each time we went over, it was so simple but somehow always had us in fits of laughter. She passed away last year and boy I’m gonna miss those laughs!

Bacterial skin infections can give off a really strong, unpleasant smell and sometimes they need a topical ointment rather than just soap to eradicate. People, particularly those with a lot of skin, sometimes don’t even realise they have one.

How can I break out of the minimum wage rut?

I loved studying Law at uni, went into the career and quickly found it boring and morally questionable. I left, worked random part time jobs and ticked off some of my travelling bucket list. One of the jobs was a TA at a Special Ed school, and I enjoyed it way more than my office job. Researching similar careers, I’m now starting a masters in speech and language therapy later this year. It can take time to find your groove, some people get it straight away but others take a little more time, and there’s nothing wrong with that! You’ve got good qualifications, work experience and motivation - you will find your thing!

I took a date to a park and spent 6 hours in A&E waiting on her getting a tetanus after being attacked by a squirrel. What's the most interesting date you have been on here in the UK?

First date. Went for a winter walk on a moore, sitting in the empty car park as it gets dark waiting for the restaurant to open. Car pulls in opposite us and a lone, middle-aged guy puts on the interior light and flashes his headlights. Turns out, unknown to either of us, we’d parked in a popular dogging spot.
