what helped me tremendously was getting it out and talking to the management about it, they even offered to take some days off if i feel too stressed from too much work and those days would not even count towards my PTO balance, which was cool!

Is there an argument against Yubikeys?

just the amount of time some people in my office either lose or forget their office key at home would discourage me from yubies, other than that i think i would only go for admins etc

Have you ever worked for an org that used cracked software?

I guess most of you speak from experience working in the US. At least hear in Europe, I have not heard about anybody getting in trouble for pirated software. Small businesses do this all the time - Adobe, CADs, Office and Windows. I know its not ideal, and if it was for me, I would get the company to buy licences, but I feel like a lot of you demonize cracked software like it was the devil. We all run/ran some cracked software on our machines.

all of the above are going to get me to “new.snipeit.tld” with the exception of “new.snipeit.tld/hardware/123”, which will obviously lead to the page of Asset 123. Any tries to get more specific using the old URL (“old.snipeit.tld/hardware/123” or “old.snipeit.tld/licence/14”) will always lead to the new server’s main page “new.snipeit.tld”

301 redirect means I would have to keep both servers running if I understand correctly? Since it would be resolved once the request gets to the old server? I would like to get rid of the old server altogether and point both records to the same IP on the new one

Thank you for the suggestion, this is exactly what Im looking for, since I want to get rid off the old server completely. Anyhow I did put my old server as my ServerAlias directive in Apache webserver settings, yet any calls for any old URL always send me to the mainpage of my new server. Old server didnt have SSL, while new one has, so all the old links were http only. Could this be a problem?

Is everyone just faking it as they go, or do I just find all of the bad IT jobs?

I was getting a little depressed reading the OP’s rant post but your answer made my day great again, as it’s legit the only real answer haha
