Americans are being priced out of concerts, sports events, festivals, Vegas trips. They have become status symbols, that's why no one enjoys them anymore and everyone has become busy sharing them on social media.

It's hyper capitalism. You aren't allowed to just have fun anymore, it has to serve a higher purpose i.e. brand-creation. Everything these attendees do serves their brand. Their jobs, their morning routine, their food, their clothes, their "content" - everything's fake. It's soul destroying.

Some people use that as an excuse to not even try. Money, class and upbringing plays a huge role in who turns out to be successful and who doesn't. But just because we've been dealt a shitty hand doesn't mean we should just give up and not even try.

A suspicious amount of UN and FBI personnel were scheduled to be on the flight and rebooked to different airlines as there were rumours about Pan Am being a target going around.

On this day 40 years ago, 55 people lost their lives when British Airtours Flight 28M suffered an uncontained engine failure, leading to a fire, on the runway at Manchester Airport.

There was an 18 year old girl on that plane who wanted to go on holiday with her friend. A few days before, she'd heard of the plane crash in Japan that killed 500+ people and only had four survivors who were all sat in the back of the plane, so she insisted on booking seats in the back on her flight as well. She died.

I wouldn't say people in the West are on average very religious. In the US, yes, but not in Western Europe. Being conservative is relative. Homosexuality is widely accepted by conservatives in Western Europe and even the US whereas in some other countries you will get stoned to death for it.
