Ok, so we all did things "back in the day" that you would never do now. What did you do?

I never thought they were weird I thought they were F-ing Awesome. Especially the ones loading me up with full size bars. I’m the awesome house on the block now! Tossing Snickers and Twix through the air like 6-7! 😂

Cursive has changed!

I think this building should be condemned. There’s serious metal fatigue in all the load-bearing members, the wiring is substandard, it’s completely inadequate for our power needs, and the neighborhood is like a demilitarized zone.

I’m a 47 y/o black guy from Detroit. I wandered as far as my bike could take me. Played a lot of sports, built mini bikes and go carts, caught frogs n fish down at the river, climbed trees, jumped off the roof of houses, back flips off of garages. I had to be back on the block by the time the street lights were on. Could usually play on mine or a friend’s porch until the adults made us come in or go home.

What is this set called?

Did anyone play the "pass out" game? Hyperventilate and then pinch the corotid artery? We went through a phase in middle school.

How many of y’all can still drink?

Suitable-Function-60@reddit

I’m 47 and have started experiencing discomfort after drinking for the last couple years. I do notice chest pains sometimes but I have had my heart examined and they say everything is fine. I get heartburn and gas bubbles trapped in random weird places like my shoulders, neck, and under both armpits. I’m also exhausted after drinking and need a couple day to recover.

So I made an "they could've had a V8" reference in a meeting today...

How did landlines work??

Posted by AnxiousStudent20@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 4599 comments

Suitable-Function-60@reddit

I grew up fairly poor and we had two lines in the house. My parents had one and my 3 siblings and I shared the other. However the bills were no more than $10 a month in the 80s. So I would say yes that was quite common.
