Are there any shared ownership options in your area? The council get allocated a number of them so they are not classed as private renting either. Private renting can be expensive, as is childcare once you are looking at full time work. Have you spoken to your parents about moving out - what are their thoughts (you may not be the burden you think you are) The reason I ask this, is if you want to move out. You are in an idea situation to keep saving and look for a full time job (when child goes to school). This way, you may be able to get a mortgage on your own as a single working mum. - few years to save up with an end goal basically.

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve been ID’d for ?

Beer…. But with my 6 your old brother. It was the height of summer - I had a 10 pack of beer and him an ice cream.. couldn’t get the beer as I was purchasing with a minor with me… according to the Karen. The minor was clearly a sibling and well under age. He was 6 at the time: In the end, they banned me from the store for 24hours (refusal of service) so I told my brother to open the ice cream and eat it. They said am I not going to pay for the ice cream… I said no, I’m not allowed to be served 🤣 and walked out. It’s a local Tesco petrol station, which I use all the time and the counter lad still laughs about it now

SIP is there to protect them, if it’s different issues there isn’t much they can do. EG - severe recurring tonsillitis > improvement = tonsillectomy (if possible). Or Mental health issues > Improvement = therapies, medication & additional support. I wouldn’t worry, if you are a hard worker and those are the only absences you have, they would be hard pushed to get rid… HOWEVER - they can get rid of you at any point up to 24months under the current legislation for whatever reason - including not being a ‘Fit’ for culture for example. Get well soon, try not to worry about it too much!

People who work 'office jobs,' what are you actually doing every day, and what salary does that earn you?
