Aside from paying off your mortgage what would you do with £70,000?

In my 30s, no kids yet. I’d max out both S&S (£20k) and Cash ISA (£20k) for this year. Top up my emergency fund (£8-10k to go). Set maybe £10k aside for mortgage overpayments or just saved up between means partner to soften the blow of upcoming remortgage :’) Got £10k left of fun money for holibobs, biz class and all.

Not an architect but for some reason I have a lot of them in my friend circle 😂  And the short answer is Yes, you have to be SUPER passionate to stick with it. The pay is not that good as well esp considering how much you’d have spend studying and qualifying etc If you love art consider other options in design/media arts - graphic design, 3D design, or motion graphics. Good luck!

Why do you not talk to your once bestfriend anymore?

Her boyfriend was abusive, and I was too young and naive to recognise the red flags. We had a bit of a falling out when she didn’t show up at a job interview I referred her to. We made up afterwards, but she’d still cancel last minute or just didn’t show up at our hangouts. So when she also didn’t show up at my farewell party to move here, I accepted that perhaps we just drifted apart, and we haven’t contacted each other since. I only found out about the abusive ex bf from a mutual friend a few years later. I only realised years later the fucker isolated her from her friends. I still regret not reaching out more back then, but I’m just glad she’s survived.
