Derbyshire is a beautiful county tbh with not many bad places. Just some of the ex-mining towns in the east although even they aren't so bad compared to the ones in Nottinghamshire, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire (where I'm from.) I love the Peak District.

It's quiet yes. It's not so run-down compared to some places I've been to. The city centre is also less dangerous than Nottingham's and Leicester's.

I agree mate. If your High Street is actually dead, that's a problem with the council or lack of government funding. Online shopping isn't the prime factor at all. Go to affluent towns as well like Southwell and they normally always have a great high street.

Some of the architecture in Peterborough is just like Stamfords. Yes it is generally rougher than Stamford but I can honestly think of dozens of worse places.

I loved both Leamington and Warwick tbh. They both just feel like quaint places to visit with some grand buildings and plenty of independent shops.

Yeah tbh all of the cities you've mentioned there all at least have something to like about them if you look. Like places such as Hull, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Wolverhampton will get knocked down but honestly I've been to all of them and I've found something to enjoy about all 5. All of them have rich history too.

Yeah Northampton is actually much nicer than people say tbh. There's some absolutely beautiful buildings and tbh, there's quite a bit to do as well.

Milton Keynes is supposed to be modern though. If you're not expecting traditionally English it's fine. Tbf it is one of the most soulless places I've been to though like Benidorm.
