I love the here we flo ones (& pads too when I’m not feeling underwear). I’m fairly heavy and they last me most of a working day or overnight is the best as you don’t have to worry about a pad shifting about and leaking.

I just went to my first panto. As an adult Canadian immigrant… Are you all in a cult?

I’ve seen the Julian Clary ones at the Palladium a couple times and they are indeed very smutty, they aren’t advertised as adult only and I’ve seen kids in the audience (even the evening show) and been a bit horrified 😂

What's the single most difficult life experience you've endured?

Losing my stepmum to a brain tumour, whilst helping my dad look after who has drinking and anger issues were some of the most traumatic months of my life. I lived 2 hours away and would travel there weekly so that she wasn’t alone as he would often sit downstairs drinking with her at the other end of the room and yell at her if she made too much noise. She had no children and my brothers didn’t do much so a lot of the responsibility was on me. I was there when she died and rang my dad to come back to the house as she was making the death rattle noises and he had popped to the shop to get some milk. I also lost my job at the same time so navigating redundancy through that was very very stressful, on top of having to move house as our tenancy ran out and we couldn’t get a new lease as my boyfriend was self employed. The months that followed were also pretty awful and I’m only really finding my feet again 18 months later.

Have you ever used a declutter service?

I haven’t used them, but I considered it when I was at a really low point a year or so ago & can absolutely see why they’re beneficial. Maybe start off with a local facebook group, there may be someone starting out who has preferential rates. Likewise, a cleaner might do this sort of service unofficially.

Do you have these types of houses in your town/city?

I am from the south east but have a few friends in Sunderland from uni days. 3 of them now own these little cottages and they are amazing - absolutely huge inside with tall ceilings and original features, as well as being super reasonable cost wise.

Do you have any former celebrities living now normal lives in your community?

https://www.mi6community.com/discussion/2825/is-bond-star-daniel-craig-set-for-move-to-sleepy-village - this was the article! The house to be fair was very grand and likely millions so it wasn’t that far fetched.

Yeah, I don’t live in Bunt though. The village for Daniel Craig was Barkway and Anstey is the Elon one (media photos of them at their wedding there so doesn’t feel like I’m exposing them lol).

I live in quite a nice commuter area, and used to live in a more rural village. There was a huge house up for sale and it was rumoured Daniel Craig had bought it and was printed in the local paper, then the sale cancelled so everyone assumed he was like nah fuck that. The most random recent one is Thomas Brodie-Sangster (drummer kid in love actually) recently married Talulah Riley (actress/ Elon musk’s ex lol) in a local village and they live near apparently. My ex’s parents live next to the local pub & apparently he drinks in there often & after the wedding they all went there for a drink with the locals & Elon musk was in attendance lol. So rogue.

Why is the phone signal so terrible in the UK?

I’m with three and it’s dogshit in cities. I basically never get signal in central London, and recently came back from Edinburgh where I got no signal around the city.

Year 8: Kids Moving from American Schools to the UK.. what should we know to prepare better?

Do you have access to a three tier state school where you’re moving to? I went to a state school that had Primary, Middle and ‘High’ school - all separate schools and not private like most people would assume. I personally think it’s better as you don’t have year 7 and Upper Sixth in the same school - which is quite a maturity jump. It also means if they’re starting in Year 8, when they go to another school in Year 9 there will be pool of new people and groups who haven’t been at the same school together for 2 years already. Feel free to DM if you want more info as this is fairly rare in the UK - I grew up in one of the Home Counties outside London.

What did your mates have at their houses, that now you're a grown up doesn't seem that fancy, but to you as a kid seemed fancy AF?

Please ring the police! I know you don’t want to hassle them but they may have someone nearby cruising about that can pop in quickly & help you.

What expensive / branded household item do you think is actually worth paying extra for?

Laundry detergent - I’ve used the cheap stuff/ powder & nothing washes as well as Arial Platnum for me. I’ve always avoided fabric conditioners as it ruins the elasticity in clothes, but I do like scent boosters from time to time.

Why have train ticket prices gone up so much, so fast?

I often get the Stevenage to London train and can’t think of a time where it has been £3.40 except for the LNER ones that are a bit of a rarity? The usual ticket for anytime or Thameslink has been the £7-£9 mark for a while.
