Our local IKEA is in Walsall, it kills me every time we go there because it says, “IKEA, Birmingham” as you drive up! Walsall born and bred and a very proud Black Country Wench, thank you very much! Never a Brummie……

My least favourite accents are Essex and sometimes cockney, so grating! Whenever I hear Gemma Collins I have to press mute on the remote, I’ve got a beautiful Yamyam accent, thank you very much….lol!

Why do people assume that because I'm a trainee hairdresser that I must be " stupid"?

I’m a hairdresser, always wanted to be. left school in 1986 with o’levels in most subjects. Went to technical college for 2 years, where we learnt practical hairdressing, hairdressing science and hair theory. We also had lessons in business theory, wig making, deportment and sociology. This was before NVQ’s were introduced and it was a hard long slog where I learnt a lot. As a hairdresser you have to know a lot about biology and chemistry as well how to treat people. We are made out to be thick and it’s always pissed me off, I’ve managed two successful business, and have now had my own successful business for over 21 years, most of my friends and family thought I was making a mistake back in the day for not wanting to go on a academic path, but I’m glad I never did.
