Do you eat foods you don't like because of their nutrients?

Posted by Skw111@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 136 comments

ConfusedPanda17@reddit

No, I eat things that are nutritious even though I'd prefer something else but it's still something I like. For example, leafy greens or fish. I'll season them with things I like to make them enjoyable.

It's not the best but I buy the porridge pots, Tesco own brand blueberry and apple is nice. I don't have time to prep stuff usually so taking that means I won't be tempted to buy breakfast at work

I'm not having a go at you? I was just saying that parents couldn't because of COVID rules. Then a lot of nurseries shut because kids weren't attending anymore and eventually when parents needed the nursery space again they didn't exist anymore.

I have 2 boys, 8 and 2. My partner will be getting up with them whilst I stay in bed a while. 8yo wants to bring me breakfast in bed. Then it's off to rugby for him and in the afternoon we will likely just have a chilled out day. Possibly a takeaway for dinner.

As someone underwriting the applications I do care. A good broker makes my job easier and gets an offer out faster. A bad one is frustrating to the bank and the buyer!

A good broker can make all the difference. I work in mortgages for a bank and the shit brokers are so useless. They don't send in the right stuff and then moan when they're chased up about it

Why do Parents Whose Kid's Schools are in Walking Distance Still Drive Them To/From?

Posted by SirFragworthy@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 433 comments

ConfusedPanda17@reddit

Most schools won't allow kids to walk home alone until year 5. Mine just turned 8 and I'm sure he could get there himself but it's a nice walk just me and him without his little brother.

How do doctors deal with hypochondriacs?

Posted by Extension_Bit4323@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 126 comments

ConfusedPanda17@reddit

I didn't get a chance to say anything to the paediatrician at the hospital but I did to his GP who kept saying it's just reflux and that he was fine. It's such an insane thing for a doctor to say, how is the patient supposed to know what needs to be done!

ConfusedPanda17@reddit

I had a doctor say the same to me once about my 2m old baby! I was flabbergasted and so angry I couldn't get the words out. Thankfully my partner stepped in and suggested we try some allergy formula like I'd previously mentioned and she sighed "fine, it won't help anyway". Lo and behold, it worked and was exactly what he needed.

You could try going for a walk and listening to an audio book? I listen to them a lot when I'm working. Your library might have a programme with borrowbox or Libby that lets you borrow audiobooks on their app for free

She will need to update her claim to show that she is the only one living there now and she should get more for housing costs. She'll also get more if it's not a joint claim.
