why don’t people just tell you what’s going on?

Is this not standard in 2025? My friends couldn't organise a piss up in downing Street during lockdown... Everyone is useless, you've just got to wing it sometimes.

You fill out a survey that asks you some personal details (sexual history, travel history etc) You drink a pint of water to raise your blood pressure. You get seen to by a nurse who tests your blood pressure, goes over the form you just filled out and then tests a drop of your blood for iron levels. Then you give around 500ml of blood, which can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 30. Once you're done, you sit down for 15 minutes with a cup of tea/juice and have a biscuit. The whole process is very easy. Get out there and give blood 👌

At what jobs you don't actually do much work?

I worked as a software engineer for a defence contractor. That. I worked there for 5 years and can't really tell you about anything I was proud of or considered worthwhile. Ancient code, fellow employees who went there to retire. Nobody cared or noticed what you did. 1/10 would not recommend.

Who else genuinely can't stand Football? It has never interested me in the slightest.

This is really sweet. Yes you can. Those types of interview are generally very relaxed. As it's fashion (yes I know it's Primark) looking good is important. As long as they're clean you'll be grand.

Valid points there, I'll just point out I somewhat lowballed the cost of a train ticket. If I wanted to go next day, I've seen the prices go upwards of £150 Like you say though, the convince is nice, I just don't think it should even be more expensive than driving (wear and tear included)

Because train travel in the UK is completely broken. You hit the nail on the head... Whenever I go to London (from Manchester) I drive because it costs me £30 in petrol. The cheapest I've found was £60 on the train.

Yes. My friend from uni was obsessed with bitcoin. He never had any money for nights out because he sank it all into bitcoin. Long story short, he now owns 3 houses in London and drives a DB9 We laughed at him at uni...

How to remember daughter’s deceased father at prom?

Posted by Sprockmom@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 29 comments

ChublesNubles@reddit

Is there anything he was wearing at your wedding (assuming you were married) if not, something special to him that she could wear to her prom? Like a flower etc? She'd be taking something of her father's with her to something that's important to her.

Blackpool. Last time I went, a man followed me for about 2 miles asking to buy what I think was meth (couldn't understand him) Finally turned round and told him to go away, he then accused me of wasting his time. The prom is okay but as soon as you head to the back streets, it feels like being in a warzone. Do not Reccomend Blackpool.

Do you have advice for a duel citizen (US/UK) moving to the UK?

Do your research before you come. The UK is great, but naturally like anywhere that's some shitty areas. Be careful with cities, especially London. London is great but the prices are eye watering for petty much everything. Where are you thinking of moving to?

We live in a world of haves and have nots! The rich and the poor the ill takes and the ill give, the weak and the strong!! Who are you?

True unfortunately, there's always sickos. The scout troop I was in was nothing but great! I like to think things have come a long way, but unfortunately these animals still find their way in.

Please don't misunderstand me here - I completely agree about the discipline part. I had an issue with the adults involved in my section. There were adults sleeping with the cadets, nude photos of children being sent around don't get me started on the bullying... I think it may have just been a bad group of people, but that's all I remember from my time in cadets.

I tried but they threw me out... Apparently 29 is too old :( I jest, I did as a kid yeah, used to be in scouts and cadets. Scouts was great, I'd never let my kids near the cadets.

Flight attendants/cabin crew, what is the worst destination flight to work on?

Posted by Haymz@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 472 comments

ChublesNubles@reddit

I'm not cabin crew but once flew to Alicante for work from Luton. There were bellend Brits vaping, fighting and abusing the flight attendants. It got so bad we got diverted to Paris after a brawl broke out at the back. No idea what happened but felt so unbelievably sorry for the flight attendants (who were lovely) So that... That's gotta be a bad route.

I've never been into comics, but I think it's a nostalgia thing for people. They grew up reading them, I'm sure we all have things others would find strange linked to nostalgia.
