I haven’t looked into it but is this trend, not just cloud flare but other vendors linked to the rise of agentic AI? Bad actors are now pumping out scripts and finding exploits much faster than before and cloud providers are playing catchup?

BulletRisen@reddit (OP)

Problem is I’ve already broken the initial search/query to as broad as it can be - 1 stop short of ingesting the entire mailbox. But even then my queries in the review set are not being respected, e.g I’ve entered *dog* as keyword that must appear in the email. Result is hundreds of emails that explicitly do not have *dog* anywhere in the email.

If Dell didn’t already enrol it in Intune then it’ll be a difficult process to get the hardware hash required for intune. Also you can technically still install windows on enrolled devices by running the setup offline.

Windows Hello for Business AD Password Obsolescence

BulletRisen@reddit

You’re understanding of this is like 20 years old. Times have changed. Allow my bot to explain it to you: *“Respectfully, this is completely backwards and goes against everything WHfB is designed for. The whole point of passwordless authentication is that users don’t need to remember their password—ever. Forcing them to enter it after every reboot (or even weekly) just reintroduces all the security risks WHfB is supposed to solve. A few issues with your take:* 1. Typing passwords more often makes users more vulnerable to phishing. If users are in the habit of entering their password all the time, they’re way more likely to get tricked by a fake login page. The best way to stop phishing? Make sure users never type their password. 2. Compliance doesn’t require password re-entry. Microsoft, NIST, and other security bodies literally recommend moving away from passwords completely. No one is saying, “Oh yeah, let’s force people to type them in regularly for fun.” 3. Users don’t need to “remember” their passwords if they never use them. This isn’t 2005. If WHfB is set up properly, the user should only need their password once (initial setup or recovery). If they forget it? That’s what self-service password reset exists for. 4. The 15-character password thing is pointless in a passwordless setup. WHfB doesn’t rely on passwords for daily authentication, so why does it matter? You’re solving a problem that doesn’t exist. Forcing password entry on every reboot isn’t better security, it’s just annoying and outdated. If WHfB is deployed properly, the best number of times a user should type their password after setup is ZERO.”

Factory reset of laptop shouldn't need a bitlocker key, right?

Posted by jwckauman@reddit | sysadmin | View on Reddit | 41 comments

BulletRisen@reddit

It’s simpler because if you’re reinstalling Windows why wouldn’t you delete the partitions from the same disk you’re installing from ? Otherwise you’re booting into Linux, running commands, rebooting into a windows disk and then installing windows
