Yeah it’s a problem not really sure on the solution tho like people are anti ai because of it but like we can’t just artificially hold back inevitable technology advances just to keep people in otherwise obsolete jobs

"Bro" and the death of mate. Why so American?

Idk I don’t see saying bro as trying to be black, it’s just internet slang that gets picked up by young people. Regardless of it’s origins it’s become mainstream for everyone to say

Is 4 weetabix too much?

Posted by banisheduser@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 244 comments

BasedRedditor543@reddit

You must have zero appetite because 2 weetabix is nothing and 3 is still a small portion. Imo 4 is on the small side I usually have 6. 6 weetabix with milk is like 550 calories so it’s not even that much food

Do you as an adult ‘sleep through the night’ ?

BasedRedditor543@reddit

This depends entirely on your sleep schedule. If you start work and usually wake up at 6 or 7, 4-6 feels like morning. On a weekend where you might sleep at 1 or 2 and wake up at 9 or 10, 4-6 Is the middle of the night. Since it’s summer break for me and I don’t have a job I sleep at like 4:30am and wake up at 1pm so like 9am is the middle of the night. It’s all relative

I love butter in general but for whatever reason butter on sandwiches has always made me gag. I can literally eat it on bread on its own or on toast or anything else but for whatever reason I cannot eat it in a sandwich. The idea of some cold ham or cheese sliding around in butter just makes me feel sick when I bite into it. I just use ketchup or bbq sauce if my sandwich is dry

Plastic can definitely stink if it has had food/liquids contained in it for a while. Really hard to get rid of the smell. You’ve obviously never used a protein shaker before if you don’t think plastic containers can smell bad even after washing

What quietly disappeared over the last 20 years in the UK, and no one noticed?

I don’t see the problem with this. People in this country often have a very depressing mindset where they just accepting things as they are. There’s nothing wrong with people attempting to earn money and try to get somewhere in life.

Culturally, do british people feel more close to North America or to Europe?

BasedRedditor543@reddit

I agree but people spend a lot of their lives listening to music, watching tv and using social media and all of those things are American dominated so that does have an effect. The internet is a large part of culture.

I wouldn’t say we are nothing like America, especially nowadays because of the internet. A lot of younger people grew up watching American tv, movies, music and YouTubers. That’s got to lead to some similarities in culture
