Yeah, $40 per report adds up fast. I’ve been using carfaxdeals . com instead. It’s legit, cheaper, and still gives full instant histories. Saved me from wasting money on project cars that weren’t worth pursuing.

A report that only shows one oil change is unusual, so your skepticism makes sense. Sometimes key records don’t show up. You can run the VIN on carfaxdeals . com for a fuller picture and to confirm whether anything important is missing.

95% of these VIN checkers are just aggregators of free and cheap data, they all use the same APIs, and their margins are ridiculously high. as the 2 others on this thread have mentioned, do yourself a favor and buy a carfax. Can't afford it? Get one from one of those discount sites like carfaxdeals. Best of luck!
