Anyone Know Where Jeana Yeager Is Or What She Did After Voyager?

I saw that Dick Rutan died today at 85. He's worth a separate post, but I can't find anything on Jeana Yeager. I know they didn't end their relationship on good terms, but she did contribute and she was a damned good pilot before that flight. I saw ONE reference to an emergency landing in Jackpot, NV, but that's it.

I just listened to Burt rutan speak and the video they showed beforehand said jeana was a terrible pilot lol she was just stoked about voyager and was a smart lady. Googled what happened to her and saw this post. I’ll have to do more research but it’s just funny how perceptions of ppl are different

I also worked during the world flight and sold T shirts. When Jeana married and had her ranch in Texas, I was able to visit and she seemed so Happy and comfortable! I wish I knew if she was still there, when I visited there was talk of relocating to Oklahoma! No idea if that happened!

Jeana is a force to be respected, the only people who said she was a poor pilot were men and they were threatened by HER talent, including CHUCK YEAGER!!!

She’s in her 70s and seems to enjoy a low profile. Good on her.

She is definitely low profile by choice. She and my mother became best friends in high school. It's rare to hear from her but she got a lot of flack she didn't deserve. Chuck Yeager never helped with that as he consistently, bitterly made it clear their last names were sheer coincidence and they were unrelated. She was almost employed by NASA in the 1990s and stayed at our home while interviewing and discussing if it was the right fit for her. She is the coolest "Aunt" I could have been blessed with but she likes her quiet and her freedom.
As for information about Jackpot, Nevada please see the following: https://canardzone.groups.io/g/canard-aviators/message/44621
For any other notes, including an emergency landing, this post and the comments should be some further information for anyone still interested in this topic. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1304059384295711&id=100040749852776&set=a.1016096326425353

Thanks for sharing this! The Voyager flight was a remarkable achievement, particularly since it was a civilian crew in a civilian plane.
Despite his accomplishments as a test pilot, Chuck Yeager was objectively quite the narcissistic asshole.

I had the amazing prevlege of working at Voyager, Jeana and I shared a LOVE for horses, she is an amazing horse person. Like in everything she does. She has that Midas touch. She was a great friend we went were our lives took us. When I was LAST able to see her she had a ranch in Texas, and doing what she loved. I haven't seen or spoken to Jeana since about the 20 year anniversary of the world flight!

You're welcome! You're also certainly not wrong about any of that. Lol

By total coincidence, I just got in to Seattle and saw the Voyager replica hanging from the ceiling in the terminal. I was wondering what had happened to Dick and Jeana. Very sorry to hear of his passing.

Same here, saw it last Thursday when I arrived at SEA. Sad news about BR.,
Ras_Prince_Monolulu@reddit
Same here last month. Saw it hanging and pointed it out to my aunt.

Exactly as you say, there was a lawsuit in the 90s, which is unfortunate, and after that she seems to be living a low profile life as is her right.
GarageHermitage@reddit
I had a poster of the Voyager on my wall when I was younger. Next to the very 1980s poster of a Lamborghini lol.
Sad to hear he passed. I've always appreciated people with big ideas and the ability to make them happen.

Damn, DR finally died. Got to hang with that guy a lot in the late 90s. He was a crack up.

A buddy of mine and I ditched work at Rockwell when we were on the B1-B assy line to go watch the landing of Voyager at Edward's. Too bad Burt, Dick and Jeana couldn't work their isdues out. Amazing aviation accomplishment.

Still the most amazing achievement By a bunch of good old boys. I visited the assembly hangar in Mojave before the flight. A huge curing oven for the airframe made from Quonset hut parts, a lot of salty looking old farts doing strange things. Just a wonderful creative kingdom that functioned without the bean counters.

Oh, Jeana Yeager?
