Salary advice, what would you suggest ?

I’m on £29k in Manchester. I have just about paid off all of my debts accrued just before and during the pandemic. I could technically afford to live alone, but if I rented a place of my own I wouldn’t be able to put anything into my savings account each month. Any emergencies would sink me. Once my car is paid off next year I will be in a better position to revisit getting my own place, but the financially sound decision might be to stay in a shared house until I properly sort my life out. If you are debt-free, manage your outgoings and live in a cheap area of the country, you can definitely get by on £25k-£30k, but you won’t have much left over at the end of the month. If you share a house or flat with a partner or friend, it’s plenty of money to get by. Life is expensive. Being single is expensiver.
