I have 2 week holiday in summer, but plane tickets are unbelievably expensive. So I book week in October and got decently cheap tickets to visit Latvia. Now I'm planning for weather to get much better and go camping in Peak District in summer instead.

It's a great way to see several places in a really easy way. The holiday starts the second you're on the boat (ie, the travel to your destinations is an enjoyable part of the holiday). They're great if you have children. There's a lot of pros to them.

You can do. The company will offer a range of organised excursions (which will normally include going to a local restaurant), but there's also the option to get off on your own and just do whatever you want. I mostly did the latter.

Depends on the cruise. Sometimes you have to be on the boat fairly early, sometimes not, some cruises can include overnight stays at some stops (ie, the boat effectively serves as your hotel for the night).

Whenever I’m somehow here that has a cruise terminal the destination is always so much nicer in the evening, and I thought that might be because the cruise ship passengers had gone. They are ever so slow and seem to be faffing about things.

Cruise ship passengers can skew older, hence they can be slow. Though I was surprised how there's far more younger people than the stereotype suggests.

Huge range. There's usually two or three places that are included in the price, which are more canteen style. Decent enough food though. Then there are several restaurants where you pay a bit extra, usually offering a range of different cuisines. Some of those restaurants are genuinely really good. You can eat really good food, it's one of the things people like about it.

I hope you absolutely love it! Sometimes being alone can be a good thing. I'm 57 and I still remember going to see the film Airplane alone because I'd missed a bus and it was raining. I was only 14 and had never even considered seeing a film by myself but I didn't really want to go home and the poster intrigued me so instead of waiting for the next bus in the rain I went to the cinema. I still remember crying with laughter and it's an experience I will never forget. It's sometimes nice to have a memory that only you have experienced!

Tough mudder in a few weeks with a mate and we make it a weekend away in a random city between there and home. We do it every year and it started off as a night out afterwards but as we got older it turned into a nice meal and this time we have found a spa hotel and we are having a massage and spa time followed by food. Bit of a girly weekend away for two lads and I am so excited

Open ended visit to Ireland this week……. No real reason it’s open ended I just havent booked return journeys yet and plan to see where the wind takes me after a few days in the south walking the cliffs and seeing a castle or 2. Plymouth few weeks later to see my closest friend. Thinking Germany before the years out or a picturesque train journey through the alps I’m finally in a place travel is so easy, been bitten by it and want to make up for lost time as I’m 40 soon

Going to Paris for the week for my 40th in the summer. Purposely to avoid any parties or necessity for folks to travel after I moved a long way from my home town last year. Just me and my husband, who is the least romantic person ever, who usually hates cities but just loves Paris for whatever reason. Plans include the Louvre, a picnic at the Eiffel Tower (dodging the blokes trying to sell you shit all the time), a meal in an art deco restaurant, watching dogs in the dog park at Sacre Couer (we accidentally spent an hour doing this last trip), and a visit to Pere Lachaise and the catacombs. Looking out for a nice big window Paris apartment on air bnb as the one we stayed in when we went in March is booked up already. Boooo.

Husband being off for 3 weeks at the end of may. He works in electoral services so this time of year sees him doing 12 hour days for weeks. Going to have a few nice daytrips to london and edinburgh and just generally do little fun things we have missed like go for lunch or for a drink or to the shops. Big bonus always welcome too haha but seriously cannot wait to actual clap eyes on the man i am married to!
