Interested, but not in a position to buy. There was something about the TourX that put me off- whether it was the AWD configuration, lack of carplay, or just wrong time/wrong place (I buy cars when I need to, and those were only around certain years). I can't really remember now, I just remember it being sort of like "everything else is so much better" when I wanted to buy one.
These wagons are objectively beautiful, and subjectively EVs are the future so I'd be happy to jump on board this train.
I wonder if canada is an option at all since we are somewhat lax with tariffs, like it would probably pass all our safety tests fairly easily, all they would have to do is localization for the infotainment and that's pretty much it. And I'm sure they'll sell quite a few since sedan options are pretty slim right now, and this one is looking pretty nice.
I hope Wagons make a comeback someday. But they need to rebrand them. Call them Euro or Estate or something, so people feel cool buying it instead of "station wagon" which sounds awful. Buick Electra sedan or Electra Euro edition.
The Electra Concept is a 5 Series-sized vehicle based on the Ultium platform, about 5036mm long (198.3 inches) and has a 2,999mm wheelbase (118.1 inches). Range is 435 miles on China's test cycle.
Electra-L is a 342 horsepower RWD sedan. The Electra-LT is a wagon with twin motors for AWD (unspecified specs) and has air suspension that increases ride height by 1.5 inches.
I like the look of these. The sedan's C-pillar has [Toyota Crown Sedan](https://hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod/images/toyota-crown-sedan-japan-front-three-quarters-654bc6649cc91.jpg?crop=0.563xw:1.00xh;0.328xw,0&resize=640:*) vibes
As opposed to being for the American elite I suppose. Buick's Chinese range seems to be in-line (price-wise) with their American positioning, so I don't think these will be too expensive.
I want to see these outside of China though
True, but I can imagine that the LT could find a following amongst people that want an EV Outback
It's like an electric TourX with more faux off-road capability (i.e. air suspension)
I mean Buicks haven't been the official Chinese government vehicle of choice for decades now, except maybe the GL8 still gives off that vibe but it's getting less and less competitive by the day. Millennials and younger no longer cares about them.
The current "well-off government official" stereotype vehicle is an Audi, specifically an A6L.
You could definitely say it’s in the middle between cuv and wagon, but even then to me leans heavily in the direction of wagon.
I don’t think there’s a single CUV that rubbed me the right way and I’m an unabashed lover and current owner of a wagon. So I came into this post incredibly skeptical only to be super intrigued by the wagon they showed off.
So either I’ve found the first CUV that doesn’t piss me off or it’s leaning wagon.
I completely forget this, but apparently Buick has been using Electra since last year as their own EV sub-brand in China

I'm about to buy a new ICE car (VW GTI most likely), but seeing concepts like this, along with gains in infrastructure and tech really get me optimistic for the future of cars in a way I haven't been before.
These, the (stupidly named) MG Cyberster, Rivian's R3 - I'm starting to actually see a viable future of exciting EV cars in a way I just couldn't bring myself to believe in before.
Just give us a boxy Buick EV Regal Coupe and a 400 HP all blacked out Grand National version. Then make a four door sedan EV version
Then give us a Buick Regal Tourx EV.
You can have the entire rest of your catalogue be SUVs just give the Grand National Coupe EV
Gone are the days of a few Buick engineers being able to sneak out a product that steps on the toes of GM's bigger brands, high-ups would never allow Buick to build a better performance luxury sedan, which is why the modern GNX, the ATS-V Coupe, was a Cadillac instead.
> which is why the modern GNX, the ATS-V Coupe, was a Cadillac instead.
This is a take I've been saying for years and yet I've had people argue otherwise. Powertrain and layout wise, it's a GNX+ that's track capable and has a manual (the GNX is auto-only)
Interesting they release wagon concept in China. However, I don't see many Chinese buyers would buy it if Gm really puts it in production. Chinese love sedan much, but they never interest in wagon.
