There’s a kink for everyone and gay men seem to like them. It’s not my kink, but tighty-whities is a corner of adult content. To each their own, I prefer boxer briefs/trunks myself. <shrug>
I honestly still wear tighty whities as my go to. My dad wore them so they were what my brother and I got growing up. They were like the default for underwear in the 90s and received a new pack every Christmas and birthday into college then just got them on my own.
I didn’t have to change for PE until high school and so got some boxers then but didn’t like them since they were too loose, and I didn’t like to leg part of boxer briefs. I’m just used to them at this point I guess.
My brother would constantly adjust himself in these, to the point where it felt humiliating to be out with him in public. One time when he was really trying to get comfortable with the leg holes on his briefs, I yelled at him to just get boxers.
He never had the issue again. Good riddance to these.
I wore briefs for a long time since I don't like boxers. So much extra material bunching up around my legs. Bulky and uncomfortable. Then boxer briefs became a thing. That's the way to go for me. Thinner material and not so nut huggy. The elastic on the legs prevents the bunching. Best of both. I sound like a fucking Hanes commercial right now.
Flies are stupid. I prefer a balance of support and control for my testicles. A brassiere for my gonads.

Tighty Whities were the standard for much of my childhood. The only time I wore anything else was Underoos in 2nd grade, back when having my favorite cartoons on everything was really important. Then in the early 90s, Marky Mark popularized boxer briefs and suddenly it became really important that my underwear make a fashion statement. That's when the tighty whities went away forever.
My dad had these and my brothers had them too. When I got to middle school, I got rid of them for dark, boxer-briefs. But there was a time during the 80s and 90s when these were the standard underwear for men. Horrible.
I had them as a kid. Not the white ones. But still, my friend in 5th grade made fun of me for wearing them. It was embarrassing. Switched to boxers in middle school. Then boxer briefs in high school.
😡 instant trigger I HATE those. They are all my brother and I were allowed to wear until my freshman year of HS when I used money I'd earned to buy us both boxers. My moms husband threw such a tantrum that I'd done that after he decided we didn't need to change. It was epic. I'm quite certain if we hadn't just moved into my grandmother's place with her it would have came to blows. He ended up leaving a few weeks later. I like to hope I contributed.
I remember briefs were pretty much the default underwear for young boys back then. Around when I was in middle school one of the packs of briefs I had came with a free sample of a boxer brief (they were pretty new at the time). So I tried that and then switched.
I know a lot of boys switched to regular boxers around that time but I never liked the lack of support to how bulky they were so thanks to whoever came up with boxer briefs back then,
I wore these up until boxer briefs came out. I remember in high school having to hang my junk out the side so they’d fit, I didn’t know I needed new underwear.
