What are peoples thoughts who have moved from the UK to America?

Looking to hear from people who have made the move from the UK to America. What advice would you give anyone looking to make the transition in the future? What insight would you give to help formulate expectations? And what were the biggest shocks in making the change? (This is coming from a mid 30's couple, one son, one dog who thinks he's a son, professionals currently living in the regions but adept to London/big city life)

I spent a year abroad in Norway, and came back realizing that North America (Canada, US, Mexico) is Where I'm willing to call home. Nothing against Europe in general, but there's too many people and it's too developed for me.

I went to Oslo as well, just over a weekend. The novelty of eating whale wore off very quickly after paying $15 for a beer. In 2014.
