What was your loudest gig/concert?

For me it has to be Slade, early 80’s. Ears were ringing for a fortnight afterwards. But what a concert it was 😃😃😃

It seems that it’s Motörhead who caused the most hearing problems 😃 Chaser and Heavy Pettin are also up there for me. Two cracking live bands.

I think the music lends itself to possibly feeling louder than it was but Death grips was intense and the best gig I've been to.

Saw them for first time about 2 weeks ago, won't be the last. I think the roadies/ guitar tech guys doing a little sound check before the start was more of a warning to get the earplugs in. Managed that without them but didn't even think about it for the gig.

MBV in Glasgow. I didn’t think my hearing was that badly affected until the next morning when I was driving and something felt weird…. I couldn’t hear my own car. I could hear everything else, but whatever frequency/ frequencies my car was in had been completely wiped out

I've been to many gigs, small and large, different genres, but the only gig where I put in some earbuds AND covered my ears with my hands was some random noise gig in a hipster cafe attended by a few dozens of people.

Rammstein. I didn't even go to it. They were playing in a stadium in my city. I could make out the words from my garden 1.5 miles away.

This is the only answer. Never had the pleasure myself, but they were notorious for volume.

Presumably OP succeeded in ‘feeling the noize’. Loudest for me was a Battle of the Bands competition which featured a mate’s group of fellow Joy Division idolators. I was semi-deaf for about 24 hours.

Fucking Mogwai, at 6Music Festival 2015. Left with me tinnitus in my left after hearing that shite.

Weirdly even though I didn't really like them I remember Kasabian being outrageously loud when I saw them at one of the Radio 1 Big Weekend shows in about 2004.

At very loud gigs I can feel my trousers vibrate in time with the music. At louder gigs, I can feel my chest cavity vibrate. Once, at Notting Hill Carnival, a sound system on a trailer went by and my eyeballs vibrated with the bass.

GnR, Wembley, 1992. Soundgarden supported them and were amazingly loud, but the whole audience were something else.

I seen Purple, the Mk2, version mid 80’s, it was an outdoor concert so no dodgy eardrums. Would have loved to have seen Jeff Beck.
