Vacations of Tomorrow! This week's painting

beautiful. I suggest it should be a blank canvas or an empty frame filled with ash and dust. Every image i've seen of collapse suggest there's human observers. I don't see any possibility of anyone surviving since we've chosen the path of greatest destruction. Even the mole people will be cooked in their bunkers, not more than 6 months after the surface becomes lifeless. Year over year planetary change means that, likely within the next year, the same change will happen month to month... and for only a couple of months, because this is an exponential process. Then it's day to day, then hour by hour, until we're on a rocket ship headed straight into the core of the earth. We assume we'll get to watch when every indicator suggests we'll very quickly be wiped out by plagues and heat, like all the species in the ocean. Look at the coral. 20 years ago those reefs looked similar to the way they'd looked for the previous 4 million years or longer. That's a 4 million year shift inside the frame of human experience. Why would any of the things we built that got us here, save us from what's coming when we refuse to engage with that reality enough to plan for it or make it better? Humans are the first species to go but after our planes and tech are destroyed by forces we refused to accept we'd brought to life. Monsters *were* fiction, but not anymore. This is that movie where a town gathers around to do a bit of devil worship, summon a demon into the world that's the size of the planet, and then go back to work as it consumes the world around them. No one freaks out, no one fights back, no one tries to survive. Instead, the existence of the monster consuming the world is rebranded by our bosses as our neglect to prioritize work over our happiness and existence as human beings. A movie that would never be made because it would be Office Space but with the world vanishing in the background and people getting eaten by the monster being dismissed as lazy. I'm starting to welcome the end.
