Yea at my first job out of college I was transferred to the most chill and easy team in the whole company. Like literally paid to work maybe 1 week a month and fuck around for the other 3 weeks. The guy I replaced was fired for constantly going to the restaurant nearby getting drunk and either coming back plastered or not coming back at all. He was probably in his late 40s or 50s had a wife and kids and was just a miserable sob. Apparently he co-owned his own mortgage company before the 09 bust. He was a stupid asshole that couldn’t get any other work and apparently detested his home life and was known to say how much he hates days off because then he has to be around his family. But hey maybe the people at the restaurant thought he was based.

Yea this person is an alcoholic I worked as a bartender for a few years. This guy ran a kids clothing store a few doors down and would come in every 1-2 hours, take a shot, and leave. He’d walk in and we’d have his shot already poured. He’d throw $6 on the counter and leave. It was like a 30 second interaction every time

As an alcoholic, he’d have no self control with a bottle in the back and would be blasted within 2 hours. The trip down the road to the bar offers an external limit to how much he can drink and at what pace.
