Should you protest your home appraisal? If so, how? Property taxes are soaring in the D-FW area

I do not think there will be many successful protests this year - it's clear home values have increased by more than 10%, so not sure what grounds you would have for a successful protest.
That being said, I signed up for one of those companies that only charges you a % of the amount they save (I think 40%?). I have protested in this manner every year since 2015 - they elected to protest in 3 years since, but have declined to protest the past two years.

Resolute property tax or Texas protax? Let the people know, I have no problem plugging my competition since I don’t touch residential.

How much do they usually charge?

Some are a few hundred and don’t change unless you have tax savings.

I use Resolute.

I’ve used Resolute for three years now, this is my third year. They make it easy.

I don't ever protest taxes. This is how teachers and first responders get paid. This is how streets get fixed and community services are funded. I've never understood why people would fight to pay less in taxes. I'd rather know that teachers were able to get paid what they're worth, along with a myriad of other things we all collectively enjoy being properly maintained.

Good lord! You are the problem! You really believe government is benevolent and efficient! I cannot believe anyone with all the proof any form of government is "good". Taxes are confiscation of your hard earned money. Taxes are theft. There is a better system that works and has never been corrupted. WAKE UP!
