My Piece of Marvin Heemeyer's Killdozer

I made a post on the r/Libertarian subreddit about this because that's where you see the most posts/interest towards Marvin Heemeyer and his Killdozer - but it's a bit of a controversial subject and subsequently my post was removed.

This piece in the picture is to my knowledge the only piece that remains of Marvin Heemeyer's Killdozer that leveled sections of Granby in 2004.
Nearly a year after the event, the sheriff's department had the "Killdozer" destroyed. The first stage was handing it over to a machinist that removed the heavy armor pieces. Then it torn into pieces and taken by several dump trucks to scrap yards around the state to be melted. This was an effort by the sheriff's department to prevent anyone that praises Marvin Heemeyer as some sort of vigilante hero from getting their hands on any sort of keepsakes/souvenirs.
The final destruction of the Killdozer was on June 9th, 2005. My father was a videographer for Channel 7 and he invited me, 10 at the time, to come see. It was exciting seeing the big construction equipment tear apart a big hulking piece of bulldozer. Before they did final cleanup, the demo crew offered that I could grab a little piece if I wanted. I grabbed a bolt because it was all I could fit in my little cargo shorts. I promptly left it in my closet and forgot about it for the last 20 years.
Unfortunately, as they were trying to keep the whole demo of the Killdozer hush-hush, there wasn't much press about its demolition. We did a live shot from an undisclosed location for the morning news, but there weren't many pictures or anything else included because again, the Sheriff's department was worried that Marvin Heemeyer would continue to be branded as some sort of "F the government" hero.
After they cleaned up the last of the scraps, everything was quickly taken to be melted and recycled. I'll include anymore photos I can find from the time. It's only been as an adult that I realized the significance, so it's just been in a Ziploc all these years with the heavy dirt and dust buildup that was originally on it. If there are any experts on this type of equipment, perhaps you could tell me where it comes from on the original dozer.
I am very uncertain as to what to do with it. I've been in some contact with a YouTuber building a reproduction of the Killdozer and potentially might send it to him to have a piece of the original on the new build.
To my knowledge this is the only piece in existence.
Edit: I have a Google Link I can send people with a few photos I've dug up that you can DM me and I'll share

What ever happened with this?
MycologistIll982@reddit
OK gotcha, you have a piece of Killdozer - what are you going to do with that?
So many questions ...

I have no idea at this time. There's a YouTuber building a recreation that I've messaged to see if he's interested in including the piece in his recreation build. At this time I'm unsure if it has any value to the point of being able to sell it, just moreso an interesting piece of history that I'm fairly confident I have the only remnant of.

I’d love to hear from you and see more about it

If Cody doesn't get back to you and you're interested just let me know, I can send him a text.
Also if he isn't interested in it I would be.

Is Cody the name of the diesel guy? Feel free to hit him up. His crew said they were going to pass along it along to his email.
hotdogfever@reddit
Yeah I think this is cool. WhistlinDiesel is kind of a dumbass but I’m always excited to watch his videos.
YouAreRegard@reddit (OP)
I mean, if there's some sort of collector than would put it to better use than I can, I'd be happy to part ways with it
mattv959@reddit
Almost anyone would put it to better use than WhistlinDiesel. Dude would probably just chop it up with an angle grinder to get more hate views. Im thoroughly convinced like 60% of his viewerbase hate watches as he just trashes things most people cant afford.
YouAreRegard@reddit (OP)
I've never seen his videos until I watched the video he did on the Killdozer. His video was the first result when my wife was asking what the Killdozer was when trying to show her a video on the history
ScrewStealth@reddit
There's a guy in Colorado Springs who has a large military museum and shooting range, he's got bunch of very rare historical artifacts that he says wouldn't be allowed in any other museum. If you're thinking of donating your piece maybe he would have an interest?
YouAreRegard@reddit (OP)
Interesting. I'll look it up
hog_slayer@reddit
His name is Dragon Man and his range/museum is off hwy 94 east of COS
Ultravod@reddit
The true Libertarian thing would be to either put it in a display and charge admission to see it or hype it up and sell it to the highest bidder. Bonus points for doing both.
YouAreRegard@reddit (OP)
I'm not sure who'd pay to see a single bolt. What do I do? Set up a roadside tent?
IShouldbeNoirPI@reddit
Hey Roman Catholics will make pilgrimages to see a single bone of their saints...
Ultravod@reddit
Ideally you'd have enough trinkets to make a roadside Libertarian museum. As for additional items, I'm not sure what else to suggest other than Ayn Rand's discarded lipstick tube and a Ron Paul 2008 posted signed by the man himself.

The dude you’re in contact with is gonna get it whether you like it or not 😭

Lol I don't know what that means but I'm hoping whoever gets it at least keeps it in one piece
