Question on an application, for a local driving job

You’re talking about a thing that doesn’t happen, though. This is one of the made up things that people (almost always men) love to say when anything LGBTQ+ comes up. Believe me, no queers want to talk to you about it. But those protections have to exist because there are a lot, lot of people, especially in blue collar jobs, who say and do a lot of shitty things when someone “acts gay” or they know someone is trans or queer. And you can make whatever choice you want for pronouns, but that question is so that people can make their own choice. If you want to put “any as long as you pay me”, great. But how do you think a person feels when they are just trying to do their job and want nothing more than to be just left to do that but they have to deal with a bunch of shitty, snide remarks about their gender? Think of it this way - on 70 years ago, less than most human lifetimes, black people could not drink from the same water fountain as white people. They were openly discriminated against, and, as such, we needed to make sure there were laws and protections. Right around the time of civil rights it would have made a decent amount of sense for an establishment to have a sign that said “All are welcome here”. Now it’s the same thing, but it’s a different group who is meeting the resistance of close-minded bigots who think that because they don’t have a certain experience that nobody does and therefor it must not be a problem so why even talk about it. If you want to know why it has to be a thing, ask someone who has been there and they will tell you about the shitty things that have happened / continue to happen to them
