Violence in Cyprus predates Istanbul Pogrom. In any case there wasn't any justification for the pogrom but the Turks aren't the ones playing the victim here and you know this very well. That's why you're projecting so hard.
It's okay you don't want to read the truth. Turks have a different history where they are peaceful and honorable and didn't commit genocide and covet others lands and terrorise the natives. "Muh Hittites were turkdick and sheetttt lol"
Is he here again? I don't advise you to argue with him for your sanity, he's a heavy racist and genocide apologist. He won't listen to any of your arguments. He'll go on namecalling, no need to bother.
Engelle geç hocam zaten 1-2 aya yeni hesabıyla yine damlar.
Don't mind him. This Indian guy keeps getting banned for racism and creates new accounts. He has such distinctive features that I recognized him right away. Let's see how many months this account will last lol
I don't really know, the only history that "irritates" me is your comment history. It must have not only irritated me, but Reddit as well, because you're making new accounts and trying to avoid permas. I see that you haven't changed much since the last time I saw you, in fact, you've increased the dosage of your racism, and one of your 3 comments is dedicated to Turks. But I won't lie, on the other hand, the idea of living rent free in the mind of a man like you who lives 5000 kilometers away from me satisfies me tremendously.
Anyway, I'm not going to bother arguing with you. What I said to you in the discussion I had with your banned account (which account was your banned account last year) is still valid. I'm blocking you now, knowing you'll show up again in 1-2 months with your new account. So don't get mad at me so much.
And let's not forget my [traditional gift](https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home-products/g37129952/best-toilets/) to you lol.
Bruh I don't even know you. Or don't even know whether I've encountered you. Besides I don't take gifts from Altaic leeches who steal from other Civilizations
how is it far-right to be concerned about unsustainable islam and migration
in germany? like no, incitement of
violence is not ok but most people just want to limit unsustainable immigration from non-EU countries whether it be illegal migration or refugees. it’s simply a matter of safety, sustainability, and practicality.
there are dangerous neo-nazis, yes, but no, wanting to keep islam and migration in check is not “radical far right”. that’s just common sense and moderate. “radical far right” is wanting to deport all muslim people, as we have seen some propose
I've been feeling like while I was absent this subreddit has turned more and more Islamophobic/xenophobic. Solely came to the comments to see what people would write.
All about how immigrants are the problem, nothing about how setting houses with families inside on fire is an issue, or how the growing wave of antisemitism, xenophobia and Islamophobia is a problem.
The crazy thing is how common beliefs like this are (at least where I am). I know kind compassionate people that turn bloodthirsty when it comes to Muslims. It's just depressing.
This likely wasn't even a far right attack. This happened during the clashes between PKK supporters and the Turkish diaspora over multiple countries in Europe. In Belgium the PKK supporters attacked lots of Turkish cafes etc. Few days later this happened.
Turks are not the key source of the Islamist migrant problem. If anything, they are the least problematic of the bunch. Same goes for Indonesians.
African, Arab and Pakistani immigrants / refugees are an exponentially bigger problem.
Nevertheless Turkey is financing the biggest islamic organisation in Germany (DITIB) which is very conservative and promotes mosques and tries to prevent Turks and other muslims from actual integration/assimilation into German society, because Turkey wants to keep them as their fifth coloumn.
Germany itself has its own fifth column activities inside Turkey in the form of journalists and acticists who constantly advocate for Turkey to take in more refugees and illegal immigrants and to not let them cross to Europe.
The problem with limiting immigration is it quickly becomes a human rights problem. Telling people “you cant come here” isn’t going to stop them, they’re going to come anyway, then what do we do with them? Do we let their overcrowded boats sink in the med? Do we throw them in overcrowded prisons or refugee camps? Do we spend millions of tax payer dollars to deport them back home so they can be simply try again or worse, be punished for fleeing in the first place? Their comes a point where we have to realize this is an everywhere and everyone problem, we can’t just lock our doors and pretend things will work out on their own.
Turkish immigrants in Germany are legal immigrants. They didn't go there jumping from fences. This isn't a discussion for the Turkish community, if anything, Turkey suffers from illegal immigration and refugees far more than Germany does.
A country needs to be able to control its borders. Illegal immigration is NOT a human right. Protecting borders and preventing illegal immigration is not even difficult. The only difficult question is, how much force are you willing to protect your borders and to enforce the law?
Just because many people in the west rather ignore the problem because they don't want the bad feelings, does not make this problem difficult to solve on the practical side. This is a political will problem, not a practicality problem.
Love when the news is about arson injuring and killing other people and this community turns into into "well obviously it's because immigration is bad. If they had simply stayed home then no one would've burned them down!"
Side discussions are a thing in the internet. Discussing the Legitimacy of border controls has nothing to do with condoning murder by some deranged racists or anyone else. Just like wanting to rescue migrants from the ocean does not mean condoning the crimes some of them commit afterwards.
I'm not saying you're condoning the arson. I'm saying jumping from "potential hate crime" to "migration is an issue" shows at the very least a bias on who you regard as the guilty party.
True, but: Idon't know what the user above u/Snaz posted, as the comment is deleted. I only answered to Snaz' comment, and now you answer to mine about what the deleted comment *maybe* entailed, and I am dumb enough to have a side discussion to a side discussion with you. So it's a bit absurd. I will stop now. Bye :)
I’m not saying illegal immigration is a human right; not being treated like animals is. Illegal immigration isn’t the root of the problem; it’s merely a symptom of global instability brought on by botched decolonization and post-colonial exploitation. Harsh enforcement of border policies is like trying to stop a stab wound from bleeding while you’re still being stabbed. It might feel like it’s helping, but the underlying issue is still happening and eventually you’re going to bleed out.
We can put however many laws we like, however many armed border security agents, however many internment camps, the refugees are still going to come they’re just going to keep trying more dangerous methods.
You’re right in that i don’t have a good solution, i only know that completely closing borders to refugees is a bad one.
if you look below, i said that it wasn’t appropriate for me to do this and reflected on the tone deafness. people do this on other kinds of posts on many different topics, which annoys me, so i thought about it, and said that it wasn’t appropriate
> how is it far-right to be concerned about unsustainable islam and migration in germany?
There is a pretty big difference between being "concerned" about something, and [setting other people on fire](https://www1.wdr.de/radio/wdr5/sendungen/tiefenblick/police-station-dessau-oury-jalloh-english-100.html).
i agree. it was insensitive to put that under this post. better place and time. transparently, i reacted to the overall media MO of calling what i said before “far right”. but hate crimes are not acceptable
It’s like if Germany insisted that everyone start calling them Deutschland.
Also the point about internet searches are often moot as most search autofills will account for both. People usually don’t just put “Turkey” in their search bar, they’ll be looking for something specific about Turkey or Turkeys.
Another nuisance is the presence of Turkish characters. On a phone I have to switch keyboard to type Türkiye which is annoying but on desktop it’s a nightmare due to keyboard layout differences.
When I want to look up something about my country in reddit, I have to search 3 keywords "Turkey" "Türkiye" "Turkiye". It sucks :) Just searching Turkey was easier even though most results were related to the animal.
While I get it, I do not like country B pressuring country A to solve a crime just because it involved some of their own. How many crimes happening to the people that also pay taxes go unsolved, just because their crime doesn't cause political tension. Would they have actually investigated my stolen wallet if I said the guy that stole it looked like he was from a country with a strained political relationship instead? Police should attempt to solve all crimes, not just the ones that other countries tell them to look into.
I don't know why you singled out a different foreign country, but no, I don't like any foreign country pressuring another country's police force to focus on crimes that only affect them. All crimes should be worked on fairly, but a foreign country should have no say in what gets prioritised.
>a foreign country should have no say in what gets prioritised.
Fair, however seeing that the German state has had a track record of being complicit in covering up racially motivated murders against people of Turkish origin the question arises.
Why shouldn't they put pressure on?
This international political attention is sadly needed because German authorities do not have a particularly good [track record](https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/german-court-failed-nsu-terror-victims-lawyers/1825988) with [this kind of problem](https://www.spiegel.de/panorama/justiz/nsu-prozess-verfassungsschutz-hat-mordserie-mit-ermoeglicht-a-1082481.html).
Its pretty rare for native germans to do something like this, the only example they have in the town is from 30 years ago
Best to go easy on the race baiting

> # [Türkiye seeks justice for immigrant family killed in arson attack in Germany](https://www.dailysabah.com/politics/eu-affairs/1062)
>
>
>
> Turkish officials are seeking justice for a Bulgarian Turkish family of four who were killed in an arson attack in the western German city of Solingen amid increasing xenophobia and Islamophobia in Europe.
>
> Ankara is working with German authorities to find the perpetrators and shed light on what has been dubbed the “second Solingen incident,” diplomatic sources in Ankara have said, referring to a similar arson attack in Solingen that killed five Turks more than three decades ago.
>
> The investigations have to go in all directions, the motive behind this must be revealed in all its details and the perpetrators should be punished with the harshest penalties," Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Başar Şen told reporters, after meeting with the relatives of the victims, during a visit to Solingen on Thursday.
>
> Monday's fire at the four-story house in Solingen claimed the lives of a young couple and their two children, who were Bulgarian citizens of Turkish origin.
>
> As many as 21 people were rescued from the building, with nine taken to the hospital with serious injuries, including two in critical condition. Turkish nationals were among those injured.
>
> Şen said prosecutors have confirmed that the cause of the fire was a deliberate arson, as investigators have found remains of an accelerant in the wooden stairwell of the house.
>
> The public prosecutor's office in Wuppertal on Wednesday said the incident is being investigated for murder or attempted murder.
>
> "It is not yet clear whether this arson was a simple crime, a crime arising from hostility, or whether it was a far-right attack motivated by racism, unfortunately, similar to the incident that took place in Solingen 31 years ago," Şen said.
>
> The ambassador said he was confident that the German authorities would carry out a thorough investigation and shed light on this crime, and promised that the Turkish authorities would closely follow the developments on this matter.
>
> He also expressed hope that the perpetrators will be swiftly identified and brought to justice.
>
> ### **Holding vigil**
>
> On Thursday evening, dozens of people gathered for a vigil in front of the burned house in Solingen to remember and pray for the victims. They placed flowers and candles on the sidewalk.
>
> Kamil Genç, who lost his family members in the 1993 Solingen arson attack, also attended the vigil and called on the authorities to carry out a full investigation and bring those responsible to justice.
>
> "When I saw this building on Monday, I felt the same pain as I had years ago when our house was burned down," he told Anadolu Agency (AA).
>
> "What happened that night, the screams I heard, the struggle of the firefighters, all these memories came before my eyes again," he said.
>

>
> ### **1993 arson attack**
>
> Three decades ago, a far-right arson attack took place in Solingen, killing five members of a Turkish immigrant family, in one of the most severe instances of racist violence in modern Germany.
>
> Their house was set ablaze by neo-Nazis amid growing resentment against immigrants and foreigners in the country, after the unification of East and West Germany.
>
> Three girls, Saime Genç, Hülya Genç and Gülüstan Öztürk, and two women, Hatice Genç and Gürsün Ince, were killed in the fire, while 14 others, including several children, were wounded.
>
> Police arrested four right-wing extremists after the arson attack, and the assailants were sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison. They were released after serving their prison sentences.
>
> Germany is home to the world’s biggest Turkish community overseas, with more than 3.5 million people. Turks are the largest community of migrants in the European country. The majority of them are descendants of "guest workers" who were invited to rebuild postwar Germany.
>
> The Turkish community in the country has been alarmed by a surge in anti-Turkish and anti-Muslim sentiments in recent years, fueled by the propaganda of neo-Nazi groups and the far-right Alternative for Germany party (AfD), which exploited the refugee crisis and attempted to instill immigrants fear.
>
> Germany has been recording Islamophobic crimes separately since 2017.
>
> In 2018, there were 910 incidents, including 48 attacks on mosques alone, a little lower than 2017's 1,095 crimes. In 2019, some 871 attacks targeted the Muslim community in Germany.
>
> Notably, in 2020, far-right extremist Tobias Rathjen attacked two cafes in the city of Hanau, killing nine young people and injuring five others. All the victims had migrant backgrounds, four of whom were Turks.
