Pretty sure this was sarcasm but. Gunning it across small bridges can actually make it worse because the bridge starts rolling under the weight and can make it tear itself apart.
The truck and dozer probably are local. They get by with doing that kinda stuff easier than the rest of the heavy haulers. No permits or chains required to move,lol.
Yeah, anyone that uses this bridge on a regular basis is screwed. A one lane bridge in a rural area, was probably built out of necessity or enough of a convenience to make it financially viable. The bridge has outlasted its original purpose and if there's another crossing within 15 miles, there's no way they're going to rebuild this bridge. This truck just created 2 dead end roads.
There's one in London with a metal road that is a mesh so you can see through it, that doesn't give me any confidence, also heavy vehicles aren't allowed on it.
I had to drive across the Tillman bridge from Nevada to Arizona a couple years ago and it was legit the closest I have come to crying in fear as an adult. My whole body hurt from the 2 minutes of stress and cringing.
Well you see Calvin, how they know the limit of a bridge is that they build a bridge and start driving heavier and heavier trucks across it. Once the bridge breaks, they rebuild it and post the weight of the truck before that one on the sign.
He had one shot at making that, and it was to line up, speed up and cross the bridge at a very high speed. Still would have damaged the bridge, but it probably would save stayed intact.
