Slightly unbelievable that the Raptor is several decades old yet feels brand new and cutting edge still. It's so old it was featured in the Playstation era Ace Combat games đł
I used to play an MS-DOS game called Jetfighter 2 that had the YF23 (the F22's competitor) back in 1990 and it had an expansion in 1992 that had the F22 (after it won that competition). And now I feel old as shit.
Change the plane to su57 or a flanker, and the whole sub would be âitâs irrelevant in modern warâ, âgood luck in dogfightâ, âmanoeuvrability is just for showâ.
I get the feeling that most of the time the F-22 does demos on air shows they donât show itâs full potential. I wonder if they went all in if it could do the same breathtaking routines the Su-35 does. I bet it could do most if not all of it, but itâs a shame we donât get to see that side of the Raptor.
Honestly it's insane seeing the F-22 in low-res footage. It gives you an appreciation for how ungodly advanced that thing was for the time and even is now.
Imagine trying to sneak/hike into the desert around Area 51, being a bit dehydrated, and seeing that shit fall from the sky in the early 90âs
*yooo is that an alien?!*
It's an F-22, the YF-22 had more triangular horizontal stabs, with sharp points on their inboard trailing edges. The F-22 stabs have that pointed corner of the inboard trailing edge cut away, which is just visible in this video.
