How often are you supposed to cut your toenails?

Trying to go to sleep and this random thought popped into my head. I've never been told the 'correct' frequency and I realise now that it's never come up in any conversation. I've bit my fingernails since an early age so I've never had to think about trimming them, I'm not sure how often people do that either.

Just whenever they seem a bit long. I don't time it.

I don't think there is a set time period, not all people's nails grow at the same rate, so just cut them when they need cutting

When they get too long basically. I would think everyone’s nails grow at a similar rate. Mine need about every other week

I usually do it once i start noticing them frequently. Most of the time i don't even think about them.

When I think about it/when they look a bit long - for both finger and toe nails. If I'm out and feel my fingernails are annoying (or I'm going to climb or wear gloves or get really dirty hands, I'll bite them off short before going)

When you start getting holes in your socks it's too late. Couple weeks before that.

Everyone’s hair and nails grow differently. I’d say every 2 weeks.

Not sure about “supposed to” - but for me it’s finger nails twice weekly, toe nails once weekly.
