Hello, soon to be trucker here. Was wondering if this was a good pay scale as a company driver

Fair enough. I’m not an experienced driver which is why I can’t speak to the pay scale. However I was told that my CPM is quite high for a newbie driver. I make 45cpm flat rate no scale. They pay shortest distance so any detours, lot driving etc is cut out. I make about 1200-1400 every two weeks averaging 5-650 miles a day. But I pay for it with no personal time. Idm though, my wife is in the road with me so it’s way easier to manage it. But I get tons of miles and experience. Just finished my first solo trip on the northeast (downtown DC, Baltimore, Philly.) surprisingly I actually really enjoyed it. Not as bad as people make it sound but I didn’t go very far into either city except DC and I avoided NYC. Just find your balance, accept that this is what you’ll make (for now) and you can always come back to it later. I plane on getting a better job later as well in about three-five years. You have what I don’t though. Opportunity for raises. My company is small and family owned. Very few raises are given. They just raised it from 45 too 50 for the experienced drivers and that’s the first raise in 10 years.
