Stubborn enduser finds out what happens if you display a 16:10 on 16:9 monitors.

Sigh. First of all, that particular Enduser is not \*that\* stupid as some endusers are. It's okay-ish to work with him/her, most of the time but that user is also sometimes a bit odd and has some quirks. One of those things is, that named user refused to use a webcam **and insists on** using the one integrated in the notebook. Which wouldn't be a problem if that would not require the notebook to be open **while it's attached to the dockingstation.** At the same time, the user insists on having the monitors mirrored. (The one on the desk and the laptop, for some obscure reasons.) Over the years I have heard multiple reasons but the most likely one is, that the user wants to see how (s)he looks when lookin in the camera ... Anyway, a few weeks ago. The old laptop finally surrendered, we ordered a new one but for some reasons our vendor made an offer for a 16:10 instead of 16:9 one as usual. **I mean, that's for 99% of the endusers no problem since they don't mirror their screens** ... If the laptop would have the same size as the old one, we would have simply swapped them with an a 16:9 but it's 1" larger .. and therefore **the user insists on having the bigger one** since my colleague made the mistake of showing the new one, while the old one was still in their office. (he/she is in some manager position, so no way to argue against). Obviously, if you have two different formats and set the displays to mirror .. **you get black bars.** Which made the enduser **unhappy** (*obviously*..) After discussing probably 30 minutes, laying down all options (including .. simply not mirroring the screen.) the result is now, that the user works with black bars on the screen. We are rarely on that floor but the few times since then, we always in one way or the other heard that the user is still unhappy. We even offered once again to swap it against a "smaller" so the black bar problem would be solved again but .. **managment and stubbornes**. At this point it's simply being stubborn because of being stubborn in the first place
