When was the last time you were required to prove your identity using a signature, and the signature was checked?

For context, I’m expecting a new passport soon and the Passport Office have reminded me on several occasions to sign the passport in black ballpoint otherwise it can’t be used.
It got me thinking that the last time my signature was checked against a document must have been before credit and debit cards had Chip & PIN.
No one has ever checked my signature against the one in my passport or driving licence.
If I am ever asked to sign something these days the squiggly line I draw bears no resemblance to my signature whatsoever.
