When was the last time you were required to prove your identity using a signature, and the signature was checked?

I run a charity bank account. The other week I needed cash from it to buy supplies I changed my name with the bank months ago and all accounts personally and charity are now in my new name. I presented a cheque made out to cash and was refused the money as the signature is still my old name. I had photo id in my new name and my deedpoll showing the change of name and could still sign the old signature but they kept telling me the account was in my old name. Even though the banking app clearly gives my new name. So yes Feb 2024 I had my signature checked
