Would you pay £1 for a raffle ticket if the prize was £1000?

Set up to get people hooked. Caps on how many tickets you can buy are often insanely high, and the odds are generally awful. I've seen some where prizes are literally just more credit to spend on raffles. People are gambling actual money to have a chance at winning some site credit, which they can then use to have a chance at winning an actual prize. There's a site I know of currently running a £35k cash competition, except the top prize is actually £2500, and there are 70000 tickets at 99p each. You can buy up to 1000 tickets, and there are 520 "instant" prizes, most of which are £5 site credit. You could drop the best part of a grand on that, and still only have just over 1% chance of winning the main prize, with no guarantee of winning any of the lesser prizes either.
