Just done mine. Applied online on 7th and it was delivered on 19th, so just short of 2 weeks.

There has been a lot of media attention about the [10 year rule](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68658209) in the last couple of days, so I suspect there may be more applications than usual in the next few days, therefore longer waits than seen recently.

I did mine through the post office, took 2 weeks. Think onlines quicker but I was worried photos I took myself might be rejected or id fill in something wrong.

I did it a month ago, my old passport expired in 2021 so it was well out of date. I filled in the forms on a Sunday with a photo taken on my phone. Sent my old passport recorded delivery on the Monday so they got it on Tuesday, new passport arrived on the Saturday. I was really impressed.

It is quite quick (2-3 weeks) as long as your old passport is valid, if it is not or is lost or something expect a lot longer.

Did mine last month: 14th Application started (digital photo link) 16th Old passport sent 20th Old passport recieved 21st Application approved and Passport printed Can't say I remember exactly when it turned up but I'm pretty sure the whole thing from application start to receiving it was no more than 2 weeks, most likely a day or two shy of it. Keep in mind I gave it a day to send my old one off as well.

Sent my application off last Tuesday and I’ve heard today that it has been printed and waiting to be sent, so based on that I’d say you should be OK for May.

Over New Year I used the cheapest service sent it off on a Friday and by the following Saturday unbelievably I had the new one in my hand, needless to say I was mega impressed, thanks to the passport office !

Normally under two weeks, you need to think about your holiday cost and paying the extra £60 could be worth it.
