Has anyone here gone through or in commuteair's aircraft maintenance apprenticeship? I'd like to hear your thoughts on the program

I’ve been with Commuteair Apprenticeship program for over 6 months now. Would I recommend working with Commuteair (No) most of the people I work with hate their job and it’s not even a question. Most of our GSE Equipment is inoperable. We at the moment have less then 3 mechanics some shifts, since everyone is leaving. The training we have gotten here is terrible. Our trainer never actually trained us and instead did his own thing and wasn’t even around most shifts. The 145 planes we work on have so many issues. Cowlings are a nightmare to work on. Tires always need to be changed since other bases are too lazy to change them. If you need more info let me know.

What is the minimum paid rate and the top paid? I am currently full time driver for UPS, should I try with the program with Commuteair?

Are you In Albany or lincoln?
Wooonerf@reddit
As someone in Lincoln I know for a FACT that this man is 1,000% in Lincoln. I will also add that your experience in Albany will be infinitely better. Houston and Dulles will also be significantly better choices if you actually want something out of this Apprentice Program.

Sheesh really? Do they pay for housing atleast? I’m curious since we do get flight benefits are they good and do you get to swop schedules
Drdisrespectfully@reddit (OP)
I don't think you can swap schedules and the flight benefits are meh. They do not help with housing
Bigdaddymans55@reddit
How are the flight benefits at United ? For ramp atleast is swooping easier? Or do they fuck yo the schedules . I am coming from American. Sometimes we’d get first class atleast until they recently changed it. Can you get first class traveling on non rev. Also if I work more hours when I first start can I get off probation earlier
Bigdaddymans55@reddit
I’ll be at Ord. Do you think the Union/management there is good
Drdisrespectfully@reddit (OP)
The only time you'll get first class on united is on overseas flights, it doest matter when you check in for flights it's seniority based
Bigdaddymans55@reddit
My last question is , is there any way to get off probation earlier ?
Drdisrespectfully@reddit (OP)
Nada compadre, gotta ride out thar 6 months, and get pushback cert after your 6 months
Bigdaddymans55@reddit
Damn so basically my first few years I won’t get on?
Drdisrespectfully@reddit (OP)
You will, I traveled all over with my flight benefits, but you have to watch what's open and keep your plans fluid. And know there's always a different way to where your going
Bigdaddymans55@reddit
Damn. I was hired at United airlines recently for ramp at Ord. But I thought this opportunity may be betters probably not aha.
Drdisrespectfully@reddit (OP)
I was at DEN for ramp with united. I'd say just wait for calibrate to open up

Ah, the CommuteAir AMT apprenticeship! It's like a rollercoaster ride of learning and fixing planes. Just imagine me with a toolbox in one hand and a manual in the other, ready to tackle any aircraft issue that comes my way.
