Is it well-known that American women really fancy British men?

I get that a lot as a woman who visits the US. I’ve had even had a man propose marriage because “I want to spend my life listening to your accent”. He’d probably change his mind after I called him a cunt for leaving his damp towel on the bed or something… I think they have a romanticised view of the British Accent ™️. In my experience, they all think we sound like Harry Potter and spend all day drinking tea and eating beans.
