Do any supermarkets sell ungrated BLOCKS of mozzarella?

Low moisture (ie not balls of mozzarella in water) ideally own brand or otherwise low cost.
TheDuraMaters@reddit
Tesco sell it.

Ungrated?
TheDuraMaters@reddit
Yes it’s in a block called “mozzarella for pizza” - own brand, costs £2.
Street_Marketing_740@reddit
It's now discontinued, do you know any other options?
No-Location-4875@reddit
It isn’t discontinued it’s on Tesco but now £4.10

Nice, I want some for making corn dogs and couldn't find any in my usual places.

The Galbani blocks are in many, and Lidl have a block whenever they're doing "Italian week" and often other times.
HelmaGelma@reddit
But the middle of Lidl isn't refrigerated, so it would go off.
Substantial-Tip1806@reddit (OP)
Thanks. Have Galbani actually, was hoping for something lower in quality 😂
JibberJim@reddit
The Lidl stuff is good, just not a permanent one.
There's the Castello pizza cheese, which is sort of tiny cubed rather than grated, a bit cheaper, dunno what it's actually like though, but presumably it's aiming at the same use?

if you’re in the southwest a supermarket fairl often gets in low moisture mozzarella blocks
Late-Champion8678@reddit
Yes, all of them do - they are usually sold as 'low moisture' or 'pizza mozzarella'.
Substantial-Tip1806@reddit (OP)
I don’t think they all do, I’ve not seen it for years and I’ve been looking.
Late-Champion8678@reddit
From memory:
Waitrose Sainsbury's Tesco Lidl Aldi
All do own brand mozzarella for pizza. Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tesco also carry Galbani low moisture mozzarella.
I can't remember if I've seen it in Asda. TBF, it can be hit or miss depending on the branch you go to - try the larger versions of each store.
Clever_Username_467@reddit
I haven't seen any in the supermarkets, but Costco do. Low moisture, just like you're after, so it can be grated to put on pizzas etc.

Sainsbury’s
Substantial-Tip1806@reddit (OP)
Interesting. My local one definitely doesn’t.

Yes but it's for branded as being for pizzas. Usually quite cheap.
broadarrow39@reddit
If your talking about the hard low moisture mozzarella the only place I've seen it in the UK is Costco.
I think Sainsbury's do also sell something like this but it was really expensive when I considered picking some up.
The soft Italian stuff is available in sticks but it's not really geared for grating.
Equivalent_Parking_8@reddit
Saw some in Lidl last week.
l8ego@reddit
I get it on Amazon, I think it's about 2 kilos, then chop it up, vac seal and freeze.
