We’re heading back to EE from Spusu. Learned they route data to their servers back in Austria and signal just isn’t the same despite being the ‘same’ network. Plus customer service was awful

Ok, I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would add my experience. I switched from EE to Spusu to get EU roaming just under 12 months ago. I got a deal through USwitch for £6.90 for 20GB UK with 8GB EU roaming. The whole process was really easy, my old numbers were ported across within 24 hrs of going live. Never had connection problems in the UK or France. FYI My wife and I both have Samsung S21 Phones. Only contacted customer services once as I thought they were a bit slow in sending me my first invoice. So my first bill was for nearly two months. Now I just pay £6.90 for each phone.

Anyone who’s interested - I went for 1p in the end and they’ve been solid. No problems whatever, great speed and customer service has been good too. And they support WiFi calling and visual voicemail.

Your update couldn't have come at a better time for me, thank you! I went to upgrade my EE today and they've changed all of their tariffs so you're basically stuck with 10GB or unlimited. Prices all went right up too, so I've been looking at alternatives. I'll head to 1p

I've been with 1p for over a year on a PAYG backup sim (averages about £3/month of use). Very happy. About a week ago I got a low-cost SIM from Spusu to try out and there seem to be some 'teething problems' that I'm trying to get customer services to fix. Incoming and outgoing calls generally don't connect properly or promptly hang up, data doesn't connect at all, texting works fine. I spent a lot of time fiddling with settings, restarting phone, trying in different phones etc but I can't make the SIM work.

I was curious and keep coming back to the post, the issue I have with 1p is this spend £10 a month or something. I was looking at their £8 monthly sim and didn't know if that would lead to issues in regards to having to top up £10 each month. Have you found this or did you go for a £10+ sim? I have become so used to contract sims, payg confuse me now.

Yeah that confused me too, I also only ever previously used contract SIMs. My experience of 1p is that it works exactly the same as contract though. I pay my £10 monthly for the ‘25GB Boost’ and never have to pay anything else. The £10 gets paid automatically, calls and texts are included and that’s plenty of data for me. Also great that there’s no contract, so if you want to get out, you can do so immediately. Apparently Spusu customer service is horrible. I'm with 1p Mobile as EE is the best for me and they're great. I've experienced none of the throttling that I had when I tried Lebara, an MVNO of Vodafone. They do allow [multiple sims on one account](https://i.imgur.com/KO7Q8LC.png) also, if that's what you need.

Opposite for me, has issues with porting, Vodafone withholding my number, and they came me a phone call from one of the actual engineers at the company everyday with an update even on the weekends. Would never get anything like that through any other service. WhatsApp chats are almost instant too no waiting in queue

As a spusu customer I have been with spusu for 1 year no issues slow switching numbers but it all depends on what phones I have iPhones no brainer check for Android I had a pixel 6 couldn't get 5G which is pretty much necessary for spusu upgraded to pixel 9a I get 5G everywhere with 200mbps I pay for anyone curious £7.90 a month for 50Gb data uSwitch exclusive deal. Check on the VoLte page of spusu if your phones listed go with spusu

Upon activating my Spusu eSIM today, I have encountered intermittent connectivity issues. Speed tests consistently terminate after approximately five seconds, resulting in a mobile data disconnection followed by a brief reconnection. This issue persists across various speed test applications and websites. To isolate the problem, I tested my alternative SIM (ID, Three), which completed speed tests without interruption. I switched from BT Mobile to 1P Mobile (and then Spusu) around four years ago. Initially, I found 1P Mobile offered good value compared to the main EE brands, with solid coverage and speeds via EE, and no apparent speed throttling. However, there were some drawbacks. Customer service was unavailable after 17:00 on weekdays and completely closed on weekends, meaning any issues during those times couldn’t be addressed until the next working day. Additionally, there is no app, and the online portal is not optimised for mobile viewing—it can also be slow when purchasing boosts. I experienced several occasions where card payments would fail randomly, leaving me without service while on the move, and I could only resolve the issue via WiFi. I even persuaded five or six friends to switch to 1P Mobile after trying it out myself, but the recurring problems with card payments were a major headache, especially for those who aren’t technically minded and struggle to log into the online portal. After searching for alternatives, I discovered Spusu, which turned out to be over £3 cheaper a month for a similar data allowance. For example, 1P Mobile charges £10.00 a month for 25GB of data, whereas Spusu offers 20GB for just £6.90 a month. Both providers include unlimited calls, texts, and EU roaming (14GB for 1P Mobile vs 10GB for Spusu), along with VoLTE and WiFi calling. After three years, I switched to Spusu and have been very happy with the change. Initially, I did encounter issues with dropped and missed calls—problems that some of my friends also experienced after switching. Fortunately, Spusu’s customer service was excellent; they reset all the SIM cards, recommended an APN reset, and advised a phone restart. Since then, I, along with two friends, have had no issues for over a year. In summary, I have experienced no coverage problems or speed throttling with either 1P Mobile or Spusu, but I would recommend Spusu as the first option. While 1P Mobile remains a decent option, Spusu definitely wins for me.

London. Switched from O2 a couple of weeks ago, wanted EE network. O2 coverage was good but not great. eSim working in minutes and ported number in 3 days. Definitely fastest switch to date. But! Coverage is terrible! Spotify cuts out! Paying for parking fails, times out. Have to walk around waving phone in the air, like the old days. No visual voicemail. I have a 5G phone, signal usually E or 2 bars. Cancelled.

I swapped to Spusu from Lyca from Three and have found them great. Good fast customer service when I initially needed them (plus today they just texted me and offered an extra 5G of data for June as it's their birthday). Signal has been fine and speeds good. My brother has just swapped from 1p mobile to Spusu and he's happy — which doesn't happen often! The 1GB (£2.90) and 5GB (£4.50) deals are so good.

I switched from Lyca to Spusu recently. And actually found your post while looking to see if others were having the same issue as me lol. So my first month with them went great, and now both me and my wife (I switched her because of my first month experience), are regularly experiencing, * Dropped calls, happens the most on wifi calling * Calls just not connecting at all going straight to voicemail. (Like I randomly receive new voicemail notifications without any missed call notifications) * Horrible data connection and speeds, (This was actually much better on Lyca) There were a few instances where I called my wife literally from the same room, to find her phone, and it wouldn't connect the first few times and go straight to voicemail. **TLDR:** Don't get Spusu nor Lyca, they are cheap for a reason. At Spusu's price range I would recommend voxi which is what I am switching back to now. Not the best network coverage (voxi-vodafone vs spusu-EE), but at least when it does have coverage it can use it rather than not connecting...

I was with voxi and top notch, customer service bit of a drag but got stuff done in the end. But moved to new area where Vodafone was trash speeds so had to switch. Switched to spusu and they split port my number for 5 days without being able to receive phone calls but customer service very good, they called every day to give an update even on the weekend. Once it was sorted they gave me compensation of a free month. I have had issues with short code numbers but any that I have email has always been an option so far. WiFi calling was trash at the start but I kept complaining and seems they have fixed it in the last week or so and pretty sure they now use EE WiFi tech as dropped calls never happen and when analysing data packets sent on WiFi it goes to a server run by EE/BT. Speed has not been an issue, same as EE and even 5G inside. Voicemail problems at the start but that was due to the trashy WiFi calling, I never have issues with that since they upgraded there tech. Another option without WiFi calling is TalkHome Other options include 1pMobile which has very good reviews too

I literally just ordered my voxi sim Monday after having ALL my calls go direct to voicemail, not even a missed call. Even turned off WiFi to stop the WiFi calling. Anyway, good that it’s worked out for you, wish it did for me as I would have preferred the EE coverage. Unfortunately I can’t agree on the customer service. They reply late, and on Monday’s issue they asked for proof and when I sent a screenshot and more messages following the screenshot they didn’t reply. After few more ignored messages throughout till the end of the day I told them not to worry and that I’m switching, they immediately replied saying “sorry the messages didn’t come through till now”. But then after that they didn’t do anything else to fix it. (Probably they don’t care since I mentioned about switching, though I would reconsidered if they did something)

Don’t use Lyca - they got hacked recently and my experience of their signal is terrible. My partner had at the time an EE sim and I often had no signal when she had plenty. I now use Lebara which is on Vodafone but their signals not much better tbh in some bits of Scotland.
