So Ares is Xena's dad?

After rewatching The Furies that seems to be the conclusion we're suppose to draw. Consider; Cyrene and Gabrielle have no clue what Xena was planning so it's a fact Atrius was away at war and came home one night unexpectedly and Ares had a reputation for sleeping with his warriors wives while they were away at war by taking their form. Ares saying Atrius was jealous and was going to kill Xena to get back at Cyrene is suspicious as hell as was his later excuse he meant of the attention she gave Xena.
I get the show would later ignore it, probably because of the father-daughter incest but come on.

No, Ares isn’t Xena father. As it would’ve been weird that, a dad would intimate with his own daughter in the whole entire series.
I think Ares plays Xena father a her drive insane in season 1 & 3, even when asked Xena if she really believe he is her father and Xena replied back.
Doesn’t matter what she believe, if he is her father. Just as long that the Fury believe it, that plot was drop or forgotten.

I don't know how much you know about Greek mythology, but that was not at all uncommon. The entire pantheon were the products of the primordial goddess Gaia conceiving the race of Titans with her son Uranus. And the Titans then took one another as lovers giving birth to the Gods. And the Gods went wild with incest, having children in every combination imaginable (brother/sister, parent/child, aunt or uncle/nephew or niece) sometimes with multiple family members.
The Gods were perceived as being above moral norms of mortals. It would not at all be weird for a Greek God to be intimate with his own child. While mortals like Oedipus were punished and shamed for incest and the same thing would happen to Demigods if they slept with a mortal relative, but there was an exception when sleeping with a member from the divine side of their family.

No, Xena just made the case to get out of madness.
Xena's dad is 100% not Ares because it would cheapen Xena's abilities and accomplishments if she were just a demigod all along like Chumpules.

No. LMAO. Just no. Go rewatch the episode. Her father was away at war, and then one night he's magically there, they have sex, he leaves. Say it with me, Ares. I know it sucks to attribute the CLEARLY demigod strength and feats to her being a demigod, but this is so obviously the case. Ares was obsessed with Xena. As he says many times, she is his favorite. Why? Because he literally chose his most devout follower's wife to bed to birth his "perfect mate." Also, after the incestuous union that is Eve (and can we please just accept that the Greek gods didn't give two f*#ks about incest), this produces a child with the power to kill gods? So, like the child of a god and demigod may be able to do? He purified the bloodline enough for baby sister/daughter packed the punch of a god's ability to kill another god.

That and in Ties That Bind when Aries as Atrius kills the guy who attacked Xena, he says "You were going to kill my little girl." I think that's the exact line. Either way, nobody was around so no reason to say that. Gabrielle showed up after.

💯 agree with this, I've always thought the same
