Yep, four on the floor is great. A lot of newer dance songs use the four on the floor beat as well (most Eurodance songs do, they borrowed a lot from disco).

I've been a lifelong fan of ABBA. Seeing the "Voulez-Vous" album front and center in parents' record collection. Evolved into my all-time favorite spinner, from CD to digital form. On weekends with my father, I should have bit the bullet and learned how to spin that album on his Technics record player. ABBA's "Voyage" album, is a future classic.

Hell yeah! My peers gave me shit for it, but I loved it. It was a great counterbalance to the heavier and more serious (if not downright depressing) music that we grew up with. Disco was also the gateway drug that opened up a lifelong love for funk.

My mom was big into the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, too. A lot of disco music is great. I can see how some of it can be cheesy, but I think a lot of the "disco sucks" sentiment from back in the day was, honestly, just racism. I love the Bee Gees. I got into them after watching Saturday Night Fever. Just a few years ago, I started listening to their whole catalog. They are now one of my favorite groups of all time. But I love disco in general, along with funk and R&B of that time.

Definitely. My parents listened to disco in addition to rock ‘n’ roll and other genres. I still listen to it, and especially love some of the new remixes they have done with older songs. Gimme gimme gimme by ABBA has been remixed several times into more modern versions, and some of them really slap. And of course TikTok brought back Rasputin, which is a pretty good song….

I unironically love disco! I mostly listened to discarded records and tapes growing up so I have a lot of exposure. When I started a business I had to work a lot of 16 hour days late into the night and disco helped. I also made a special pilgrimage with a younger boomer friend of mine to Lefty’s sports bar in Erie PA, which still has the OG light up disco dance floor she used to dance on when she was under age! Unfortunately the new owner is super lame and it’s covered in dirty floor mats but it was cool.
