UK Radio Stations that are like Planet Rock but doesn't have Ads of the Cringe Variety?

Allow me to explain tho I may be asking for the world.
So, I really hate most station on FM. Mostly because I don't like the personality of the hosts or what they talk about let alone the music.
Planet Rock plays great Rock and Rock singers music but I don't like the mainstream news they report on. I know ads are needed for a radio station to work but most UK ads are very cringe and it makes not want to buy to anything they're selling.
I guess I'm looking for a Radio Station that ideally plays Rock style music doesn't have segments about depressing on-going news and cringey mainstream ads.

Gorgeous radio for me at work, not too many ads or talk breaks, just straight music from most of not all genres. All the people I work with love it, and we all have different music tastes!

Spotify playlists sound more like what you are after.

Even then you have to pay £11.99 a month if you want to avoid the ads every half an hour. And if you listen to the free version, you can play any tune you like on iPad and PC but not iPhone for some reason. On all devices, you will get ads every half an hour unless you pay for Premium

Sir! All ads are very cringe. All of them. Every single one. From the music they use to the way they speak or try to make jokes or sing. Just makes me tear my hair out!

There's Kerrang radio which is similar.
Depends if you are using a DAB or another device, I have an Internet Radio app on my phone which opens up a large choice of stations from around the world. I sometimes intentionally pick a foreign radio station, then the talky bits do not bother me as I can't understand a word they are saying....
Dandelion Radio may be of interest, they are following the good work of the late John Peel.

Planet Rock and Kerrang are both owned by Bauer and have a lot of the same ads on.

Thnx you. I'll check em out.

Apple Music and create your own stations. Not listened to radio for at least 10 years

Yeah. I'm a little weird tho. I wanna listen to songs whilst having a presenter/host talk every now and then either about the track or some comment about life etc.
Chilton_Squid@reddit
Or just pay the £3.99 a month and get Planet Rock with no adverts.

This. I listen to planet rock every day while working, and before premium I was being driven nuts by McDonald's ads. The £4 a month is probably the best subscription I have. The extra stations are a nice extra, and have it applying to multiple stations is quite nice when you fancy a change and throw Kerrang on in the evening. As for the news, that still comes in but I find it helps keep track of time. "Oh the news again, time for a cuppa".
Still use DAB in the car though, so sometimes want to drive off a cliff when a Jet2 or McDonald's ad comes on...

Oh - I didn't realise you could do that. But how does that work? You just get a constant list of songs is it a difference broadcast? Or you still can listen to the hosts talk about whatever inbetween.
sideone@reddit
You also get a list of other radio stations from them with no ads or talking, just songs back to back of differing genres.
lucylastic89@reddit
on Greatest Hits Radio premium they just play a song when the adverts are on so I assume it would be the same on Planet Rock
Curgenven@reddit
same broadcast, just when adverts play you get a song instead. Obviously only works on the app or on the website not on DAB. You still get the presenters talking and the news on the hour though.

Spotify Premium, worth every penny

I'm going to recommend Radio Paradise. It's not 100% classic rock - you'll get some folk, indie, world music and [anything else the owners feel like scheduling], but it's been my go-to radio station for years now. No adverts (it's user-supported, but that's voluntary), and no interference from record labels pushing their latest releases. Basically, it's just a couple of people, retired from the mainstream radio industry with enough money to just broadcast their music taste to the world. It's fairly low on 'hit singles', and fairly high on deep cuts, indie releases, and artists not well known across the world.
I fucking love it. Also, it broadcasts in 16-bit FLAC quality, unlike most commercial channels, so you can plug it into your best hi-fi gear and not notice the quality drop.

How intresting! And do the presents casually talk between songs or is it just a playlist?
ClassOf37@reddit
There’s no ‘live’ presentation at all. There’s a very short pre-recorded message every few songs inviting you to contribute, but that’s all.
purepurewater@reddit (OP)
Aahh okay. Well it's a really nice station I've just tuned in. I was looking for one where there's an little talk like whats on the hosts mind, that would make it compelte but thnx for showing me I like it a lot.
Happy_Boy_29@reddit
You are asking the world, get a Spotify subscription, no depressing news, cringy ads or flakey jocks.
purepurewater@reddit (OP)
