Is it possible to start a new career at age 30?

30 isn't 'late' but you will likely need to accept that a change in career does maean that you are starting at the beginning again and that is likely to be reflected in your arning capacity etc. What do you want to do? My brother in law was older than you when made a majorswitch, he'd left school at 16, and had mostly worked in constructions and working with heavey machinery (road repairs, that kind of thing) he then went to university as a mature student to become a Radiographer. IIRC he did a 1 year course first - I think it is called Access to Higher Education, it's designedd for people who don't have A-levels / conventional qualifications but want to go to universiy. If you have 'mediocre' A Levels then you may stil be able to use those to apply to UNiversity, depending on waht and where you want to study. I think becasue he wa triaing to work for the NHS he was eligable for finacial support as a student - I don't think it was a massive amount, but it all helps :) If you want to move to a job that needs a degree, you can also look into getting one via the Open University - it's deisgned to let you study from home and part time so you can fit it around paid work. Another family member did this - they weren't sure what career they wanted (or rather, they knew what they wanted to be doing but not what careers would let them do it) so ended up spending a few years after university doing various entry level jobs while building some esperieince dong unpaid but relvant to their interest stuff, then once thye worked out what they actually wanted to be doing and what qualiificatiosn they would need to do it as a job, they did the appropriate degree via the OU and then got onto a graduate trining scheme to do the type of work they want. They were slightly younger than you when they started the OU degree but then did it in 3 years while working full time as well!
