What food that is aimed at kids do you buy and eat for yourself?

For me its the billy bear sandwich meat. I know its processed to hell but man does it taste good on some crusty bread.

I remember in the late ninties, in the sixth form, one of the lads went into the chemist's for something and came back to the common room with about five or six boxes of them. They'd been on offer for pennies. We all drank tea and smashed the lot. They taste like memories!

As a standalone food item on a menu, sure, but fish finger sandwiches arent something I associate with kids and theyre on lots of pub-style menus, and in general I just associate them with cheap home food for people who can't/don't want to cook - e.g. fish fingers chips and beans is just a common working class meal, its not something that only kids eat

If you have ice chunks forming on the waffle then you have a freezer problem. A light frost is fine. My waffles all come out the box frost free.

I’m not sugar shaming as such, just pointing out if you deny yourself something because “it has sugar in it” chose something else that is low in sugar but then dump half the sugar pot on it to make it taste nice, then it defeats the object. I’ve had this argument with countless people over coco pops. (The only cereal my kids will eat in the morning, under 1 teaspoon of sugar per 30g) Sugar on wheetabix is my guilty pleasure too…

Oh they were a lifesaver when an operation to remove an impacted tooth went wrong and I couldn't eat solid food for a week (stir them into milk and you get a mush that IMO tastes better than porridge).

Apple puree pouches. I grew up in the US and I miss American apple sauce. But the pouches are similar texture, just less sugar or cinnamon. And they are perfect sized for lots of "low added sugar" recipes that call for applesauce. They don't need to be refrigerated and so it's easy to throw in a bag as well

20 minutes at 200C from frozen food. So potato waffles, smiley faces, the alphabet ones (rude words), curly fries, paired with chicken nuggets, goujons, popcorn chicken, turkey dinosaurs, that sort of thing. I always keep some in the freezer for when I really can't be arsed to cook, ill or late having tea and need to do something quick and easy. Or Saturdays.

As an Italian who chooses the types of pasta that go with a specific sauce/style I absolutely love shaped pasta as it has not one main/specific way to prepare the dish. It’s crazy pasta and the shapes are so tasty!! Sometimes people would buy me penis or some funny shaped pasta thinking I would never eat. Jokes on them I absolutely adore them!! Usually just lots of butter and ton of fresh Parmesan and I’m happy

Fish Fingers and chips, I'm sometimes just too lazy for anything but shoving them in oven for 20mins and horrifying some frenchies with my use of tomato sauce. If the chips are running out I'll also have no problem using the smiley face potato shapes I keep for when the nephew is over. It's about the only meal that makes me feel full, while retaining enough self control that I don't cross the border into bloat country.

Came here to say Billy Bear. Goes back to when it was that clown face version from Safeway's deli counter. I've bought myself a couple of lunchables lately, and am only just managing to hold back on rusks till my daughter can start them.
