OMG I had the biggest crush on Alicia Lambert/Christine Lakin. Also, yes I had BUM apparel. They were my favorite shirts to wear.

No, but there was a period of time at my elementary school where if you didn't have an ESPRIT bag, you were NOBODY. (I was nobody and didn't get one till the fad had already been over for a year).
I really wanted one and my parents resisted with "why? it looks like a diaper bag". I wore them down and they bought me one but they always referred to it as my diaper bag. "Alright, time to go. Grab your diaper bag"
Naw, it was literally just a tote bag that said ESPRIT and it was THE mark of The Popular Girls in Northern California, circa 1989.

I treasured my red one (emblazoned with the logo on the outside slip pocket) like nobody’s business. Probably still somewhere in my parents’ house haha.
100%!! He was bald when I met him so he was hard to recognize. I spent most of the time chatting with his dad while he fixed the blind. His dad was the one that connected the "you look familiar" to "No shit, I loved Step by Step"
The last time I wore a BUM t-shirt, the kids said I was a bum. I never wore it again. It was a thing at my school to accuse each other of being homeless. The sad thing was, there was a kid there who was actually homeless on and off.
I grew up in a town that starts with B (like Boston). One day a larger kid came to PE wearing one of these shirts. The cleverest bully yells out “what’s B-U-M?! Boston’s Under Me?!” And that singlehandedly killed the sales of anyone wearing that brand to our school
I was more into Cross Colours around that time

That’s for rich kids. Although I was tempted to buy them pumps at their outlet in 1996, but the kid warned me that them pumps were already broken in those :-)
I had a pair of Dymacel shoes, i thought they were the coolest in 3rd or 4th grade, with the little cushy diamond in the bottom. Mom bought them at Venture for me! Still remember it so well.
I got a BUM sweatshirt for my birthday after it was no longer popular anymore. I didn’t mention that to my parents and pretended to be excited. I’m still proud of teenage me for being mature enough to realize they were excited to have gotten me something “cool” and not wanting to hurt their feelings.
Oh, I had a bunch. Shirts, sweatshirts, a hat, even a wallet. My last tee, which I'd been using as a sleep shirt for a long time, finally came apart a couple of years ago. But I do still have one little memento from the line: the wallet had a little clip that could connect it to keys, and I still keep that clip on my keyring even though the wallet itself has been gone for, like, thirty years. It's a little piece of nostalgia that wouldn't mean anything to anyone else.
That show was just grooming to make the American public accept the gay lifestyle, even though both the dads were straight and the reason she had two dads IIRC was because her mom had sex with both guys in a short time period and so didn’t know which one of them were the father.
(/s about the grooming, I just channeled my inner boomer for a minute and suddenly all of these fox news talking points came rushing out. It was kinda scary.)
Oh no. My mom would not let me be cool for any reason whatsoever. So there was no name brand anything for any reason, and of course I lived in a town where that stupid shit mattered. But honestly she did the right thing. She showed me extra money should go towards retirement and the mortgage, and only now I get it.
