What have you bought this year that already ended up being a waste of money?

For me the main upside is that it is way quicker than an oven so it's way better for small stuff. For example this morning I was having breakfast, I have frozen croissants into the freezer so popped one of those in on a whim and it was done before I'd even finished. Frozen buns or bread is also great as a breakfast option. Yesterday I was heaving full English and all I really needed was a single hashbrown. Totally wouldn't have been worth it to preheat the whole oven. I mainly use them for these small snacks. Some of my other snacks are squid rings, fries, nuggets. I don't have that kind of stuff every day. But I realistically wouldn't have them at all if my airfryer didn't exist. Because I'm not gonna fuck around with the oven for like 5 nuggets or a small bowl of fries. If often also toss in things like sausages for my breakfast. Again I could just pop one in the pan. But it's easy and convenient to just pop it in there and forget about it while I get the eggs and other stuff going. I also used to boil things like my broccoli a lot more. Because it was just quick and convenient. I'd use the oven to roast them sometimes too. But often I was just lazy or in a hurry. Now it's literally so quick and convenient to just throw them in the airfryer and they will be done just as quick as if I was just boiling them. I often now just spring some seasoning on it, maybe some cheese and just have it as a snack. I've also started making cookie dough in bulk, freezing it and then I'll pop a single one in the airfryer when I feel like having a freshly baked cookie. I was like you in the way that at first I struggled to find a use for it. Because with the way I was used to using the oven it just didn't feel like the airfryer had any major benefits. But now I've kind of find that I don't use it instead of the oven so often. But rather I use it at times where I never would have bothered with the oven. Do I need to have a single freshly baked croissant or bun with my breakfast each Saturday? Not really. Could I make myself just some fries or some nuggets on a whim in the oven. Yes I could. But realistically I wouldn't have. So once I changed how I looked at the oven and what role it fulfilled then (mainly roasting veggies, frozen pizza or casseroles and stuff), it became apparent that outside of those uses there was a tons of other uses outside of those if I just thought about what I COULD do, not necessarily what I had done before.
