Why do most sidefolders fold right over the manual safety?

Who thought it was a good idea for the safety to be covered by the stock or brace?

Most guns made for a folding stock have a ambi safety or safety specifically made to clear the stock. What guns are you thinking of in particular?

Because a normal person not jumping from a plane would unfold the stock first.

Because the stock should be unfolded before shooting.

Not sure, my only thought would be it would fold over the controls so if airborne troops are jumping it would cover the controls from the harnesses.

Nobody. That’s just length of pull overlapping ideal positions for controls. That or the designers wanted to frustrate you, specifically.
